Generating self-signed CA certificate
Dear all,
I am having issues regenerating the https certificate as CA (root) on ReadyNas os 6.9.3.
I did this around Oct last year, but as far as I remeber I just used the standard option via admin - settings - https and putting in the ip and then downloading it via IE from Windows.
As my ISP changed my IP I tried doing it again and unfortunately it seems to generate only the server certificate rather than root (CA).
The problem is that I can’t fully add the server certificate in iOS, it does not allow to grant full access and limits streaming over https. With havinf a self signed root I could trust it manually.
Any help/ideas? i tried regenarating it many times.

Re: Generating self-signed CA certificate
Still not successful with generating a self-signed CA certificate. Trying everything but the kitchen sink.
Ended up getting and installing a letsencrypt SSL certificate instead. Unfrotunately as the tns authentication method has been deprecated dthe only thing left is HTTP validation for which I had to open and forward port 80 on my router, which is one hell of a security vulnerability and which I will have to do each 3 months 😞
Also, letsencrypt has blocked *.mynetgear.com domain from getting additional certificates as they have issued too many already and I additionally had to make a subdomain for my blog and CNAME it to the mynetgear DDNS url.
