Inserted a fully loaded HDD into nas now can't read data
Hope someone can help me.
I bought a Readynas n+ V2 and installed 1x new 2tb HDD. I then added a 500gb drive which was full of video. Apparently I can't do this!
Netgear advised me to take the drive out and put it in a caddy and transfer the data across the network to the nas.
Here's my problem........
The drive now doesn't appear in windows now so I can't access months of work converting videos.
The drive is a seagate and I have fired up a couple of their tools. The tools can see the drive but it doesn't tell me much.
I have the file recovery software too but the scan is taking ages.
Is it simply a drive format type that is preventing me from re accessing my data or has the nas wiped my disk?
Hopefully someone can help me or point me in the right direction, I really could do without another 3 months of converting everything all over again!
Thanks in advance
Danny

The NAS reformatted your disk to ext3 format (which is what it is designed to do). File recovery software might be able to get some of the files back.
