Leds on Disks blinkg after upgrade
Hello, we recently upgraded our Readynas 3200 from Raidiator 4 to OS6 following one of the guides posted here and with the firmware of the community.
Now, the upgrade had work well, I mean, OS6 boots well and everything seems to be working... Except... I have now 4 disk with yellow led always blinking (1 second on, one second off) (the first 4 disks). In the status inside the web gui it seems that disks are fine, if I swap any of this disk, the blink remain in the same bay.
Now, my questions are:
1- Is possible in someway to fallback to raidiator 4 from OS6 ?
2- Is possible to debug the leds to see where can be the error ?
Thanks

Re: Leds on Disks blinkg after upgrade
It is possible to go back to OS4.2.x. I'm not sure of the exact location of the file, but it should be in the same (very long) topic as the one for upgrading. You do need a special file that is 4.2.x masquerading as 6.X just as updating to 6.0 required a 6.x update masquerading as 4.2.x.
The first 4 bays on the 3200 use a different SATA controller than the others, which is why they can handle drives larger than 2TB while the others cannot. Perhaps something is wrong with the driver for them in the OS version you are using. Maybe somebody else has tried a 3200 with OS6 and knows if this is a generic problem. I suggest you first try a factory default to see if something went wrong in the default that was a part of the conversion before you resort to going bakc to 4.2.x..
I'be converted two 4200V2's an had no problems. But that motherboard is a lot newer and has >2TB support for all slots.

Re: Leds on Disks blinkg after upgrade
Thanks for your response, I will do a deep research in the forum to see if I can cath this file (just in case the factory reset does not work).
I found this yesterday, https://kb.netgear.com/30267/RAIDiator-4-2-USB-Recovery-Tool
Is a USB recovery for 4.2 possible after upgrade to OS6 ? (as last resource)

1. A factory reset will not bring you back to OS 4.2. I don't believe a USB recovery will either (if it boots it likely will do damage).
2. The downgrade firmware Sandshark is talking about is here: RAIDiator-x86-latest-downgrade

Re: Leds on Disks blinkg after upgrade
You install it from the web ui and go. After you do the required reboot as part of the firmware update process you will get the "corrupt root" error. If your NAS has a display on the front you will see it on this. Otherwise you can see it in the Info (far right) column in RAIDar.
Once you get that error you will need to power down the system and do a factory default using the boot menu.

Re: Leds on Disks blinkg after upgrade
Thanks again, as this NAS is on a datacenter, I will need to schedule a visit this week and try this. I will update the thread after that to mark the solution and maybe to put a better title.

Re: Leds on Disks blinkg after upgrade
There's no need to rename the download. Can you try downloading the firmware downgrade image using a different web browser?
