Mac connected to readynas connected to UPS?

Hi

I have an APC ups connected to my Readynas. Works great.

Is there any way to connect my iMac to the Readynas so it can detect when the system needs to shut down in the event of a power outage. I know another readynas can monitor the readynas connected to the UPS, but not sure if a computer could connect.

Honestly, I am struggling with this, I am relatively new to mac's and all this source code is beyond my level of knowledge - sorry.

Connected the UPS to Mac and rebooted. the ups tool worked fine! Now I need to see if I can split the usb cable and have the ups switch off the mac and the readynas
