NVX won't boot... after trying to get logs (Case 18852775)
I attempted to retrieve the logs from my NV+ (4x2Tb disks, 96% used, 229G available) and it seemed to crash.
I shut it down with the power switch and attempted to restart, but it got stuck Booting...
I reinstalled the OS, from the boot menu. No difference.
I removed disks 4 and then 3 individually and it showed some activity while Booting... and then stopped. When I got removed disk 2, alone, it ran a file system check and produced
***** File system check performed at Sun Jun 24 16:59:24 WEST 2012 ***** fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010)
/dev/c/c: recovering journal
/dev/c/c contains a file system with errors, check forced.
/dev/c/c: 106018/91185152 files (92.2% non-contiguous), 1399002197/1458962432 blocks
but then still stuck, Booting.....
I reinserted disk 2 and restarted, and it has been Testing Disk 2 for the last 25 hours, with no signs of activity. (Blue power light on, 4 disk lights illuminated and still, but no activity light).
Suggestions for next steps?
How can I tell whether the disk test will complete?
Should I power down, remove it, and try again?
Thanks.

A thought:
Since RAIDar seems to find all the disks OK, and the box runs a bit before crashing, perhaps reinstalling the os has installed an earlier version than the 4.2.20 that I was using.
The latest USB recovery disk that I can find is for 4.2.15, to which I presume I won't be able to downgrade (to reupgrade back to 4.2.20 or 21). How do I get the latest USB recovery disk?
---
As an experiment, i took out the 4 disks and put in another one. This prompted a factory reset and the Readnas NVX came up without problem, even updating the firmware to 4.2.21 correctly. However, after putting the 4, apparently healthy disks back gets me back to a Testing Disk 1 indication that halts after less than a minute. (I can ping the device, but not raidar it.)
I'm running a "Testing Disks" from the boot menu, which seems to be progressing (slowly). Raidar can connect OK.

Re: NVX won't get past Booting... after attempting to get lo
Sounds like the OS partition is almost full
Don't do a USB Boot Recovery. It clearly is not needed here and will only cause problems.
I would suggest you open a tech support (http://www.ReadyNAS.com/support) case and edit the thread title (I.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include your case number.
Most likely remote access to your unit will be needed
