Need to Synchronise Two File Systems In Real Time
I have a client with two physical offices - want to run a ReadyNAS at both offices & then synchronise the file systems - either real time or overnight. The end result needs to be the same files physically sitting at each location. So it is not just replication but synchronisation.
Can someone confirm that a simple backup job - one setup from A->B & one from B->A will achieve this without corrupting any files ?
Thanks
Phil

Re: Need to Synchronise Two File Systems In Real Time
I think there is no way to set 2 NASes synchronise in real time, the best way is setting up Rsync backup job and configuring its intervel to hourly on both NASes and open port 873 to internet.

That is an insecure backup method. Rsync over SSH or a VPN is better.
