Netgear support not ready to help. #26982614

This is Roopesh Vakharia from Mumbai.
This is with regarding. my CASE ID . 26982614

I am extremely disappointed, heart broken, tensed and sad.
All my lifes data is in this NAS DRIVE.

One morning when i wake up it shows an error on the LCD and poof , "EVERTHINGS GONE".

I have trusted netgear all my life, i myself have been a channel partner for NETGEAR SWITCHES.

I am deeply disappointed with NETGEAR SUPPORT.

Firstly received a faulty READYNAS for 30000 Rs which is not my fault.
i purchased 4 new 4tb NAS HDD for 60000 Rs
With the help of support got going with installation & the RAID FAILED AS WELL AS HDD.
But not so critical data so forgot about it.
GOT THE DRIVES REPLACED from WD.
AFTER assurance from NETGEAR SUPPORT, that the NAS BOX IS PERFECT.
Got going again with a new raid and drives.

Transfered all my data, feeling safe.

BUT NOW AGAIN EVERYTHING GONE.

Firstly they tried recovery but could not as FAULTY NAS.
I was asked to go for replacement of NAS BOX and then NETGEAR SUPPORT WILL DO RECOVERY.
Then I had to wait 22 days for REPLACEMENT.
Now you say you cannot RECOVER MY DATA AND I NEED TO GO FOR RECOVERY PLAN.

WHY THIS CHANGE OF POLICY.

I have patiently waited to get memories of my family back.
You cannot go back on your words.
You clearly know and understand i am stuck because of no fault of mine.
Please help me get my important photographs and videos and misc data. we can let go off the rest.
I request you to please help me on the same.

Please suggest what can be done

Re: Netgear support not ready to help.

Support has diagnosed that data recovery is needed for your support case. Data recovery inherently may be unsuccessful and support requires the purchase of a data recovery contract before they can proceed to make a data recovery attempt.

Do you have a backup of your data? It sounds like you don't. There are many reasons why you should backup your data some of which are explained in Preventing Catastrophic Data Loss

Re: Netgear support not ready to help.

They also have diagnosed that because of the faulty device the drives had to be replaced once.

Also the raid is curropt because of the faulty device.

The logs clearly show no problems with HDD.

Keeping everything ASIDE.......

i have most of the data backed up & unerased from another harddrive.

Just a few important pictures around 500 and some word excel files is what i need.

I will let go off the all other 5-6 TB of data.

This is very important for my 10 year old kid.

I am not in a position to purchase a recovery plan.

I request you to please help me on the same.

Re: Netgear support not ready to help.

What may/may not be possible causes of your volume entering a data recovery situation are irrelevant. The warranty does not cover data recovery. Data recovery attempts may be completely unsuccessful and generally involve a lot of work by senior experienced support experts.

If backups are maintained properly then data recovery shouldn't ever be needed.
