Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

Which firmware are you running?

The issue where an app uninstall could lead to Apache failing to start was fixed long ago and I don't think that is why the service crashed.

Looks like you have at least one failing disk. That ATA error count is huge.

Do you have a backup?

Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

Yes, i know there is a huge ATA count and probably the disk is going to fail. i do have a backup. no a problem if the HDD fails.

But how do i get the ADMIN page backup

on ReadyNASOS 6.4.2

Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

Well you have SSH enabled and your disk is failing badly.

Do you have a backup?

I can see you still have some packages installed such as PHP, MySQL, Transmission etc.

Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

Yes i have a backup.

i have those installed but just to try them out. i don't need any of it. i don't mind uninstalling and removing everything to get it working again. how do i uninstall apps via ssh

Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

Not sure whether those apps would have caused the problem or not. It would seem unlikely, but you can use

# apt-get purge <packagename>

to purge a package. The order you remove packages can matter and entering the right package name.

Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

Got tired of waiting for a solution

1)Found  a replacement hard drive and did a factory reset wiping all data.Did firmware upgrade to 6.5

2)Admin page now works

3)Lost data

4)At least it works.

5)Thank you mgdm

6)Will stick to buying and using only Synology NAS from now on and not try to save money and buy Netgear, lesson learned.

Re: No admin page NAS 102 even after ssh

You can hardly expect a system with a bad disk and with that the only disk to operate well.

You would find you'd have lots of problems in that situation with any brand.

You could have backed up your data if you could still access it but chose not to. If you could not access your data we do have data recovery services that we sell which you could have chosen to take advantage of.
