Not able to access home directory

Was just finishing up moving some files around and suddently I'm no longer able to access my home directory on the 428. Just asks to authenticate over and over. Despite me being able to access all the other shares no problem. I originally had different passwords on my computers than my NAS. Changed it to be the same on both. Still no joy.

For a solution I created a new user and tried to connect from another computer.

Same problem. it will just ask to authenticate over and over

I can access via ssh/scp no problem. Permissions look fine

Re: Not able to access home directory

If you are using Windows, then try going into the Windows credential manager and deleting any credentials for the NAS.  Then recreate them (one using the NAS hostname, and the other using the NAS IP address), with the appropriate username and password.

Then reboot the PC and see if the problem is resolved.

Re: Not able to access home directory

I have my computers setup with different passwords that what the user has on the NAS.

Passwords were never saved.

There still might be credentials in the windows credential manager, so I do recommend the procedure I gave above.

As a test, you could also try running CMD (command prompt) and enter

net use * /delete

net use t: \\nas-ip-address\username /user:username user-nas-password

and see if that mounts your home share as drive letter t.

Re: Not able to access home directory

No there are not.  (I did check for sanity)

Was never mapped, password never saved

I was seeing other weird things.

Opening HTML files in Chrome wasn't working. Worked fine in Firefox though. Chrome was showing a bad path.

Was also seeing NIC teaming issue but I think that was my own mistake.

I restarted the 428 and it's fine again.
