OS Reinstall/Factory reset not working
Hello Community ,
I´ve trouble with my RNDX4420 , because i have no access to the webpage. It appears in Raidar and match the ip address in my network. Also i can ping it with my computer.
Now, here is my problem: i want to reset the entire Readynas, but every time when i try, it fails after an OS reinstall or facotry reset.
I go through the steps in the description:
select to the boot menü, select the factory reset , i wait for passed disk test , format the disk and configure my raid . Then on the display appers the selected configuration. About 10 sec later, the display shows: Err: Raid creation failed.
With an OS Reinstall nothing happened. When i select the OS Reinstall it switchs to the factory reset and fails again.
I tried different methods to solve the problem, but nothing worked. I stuck in this "Raid creation failed".
Also i have no access to the webpage from the nas.
RNDX4420
FW:4.2.8
Can you help me please?

Probably it´s the old firmware that can´t handle larger space than 2tb.
Yes.
Note some of the rackmount chassis can't handle > 2 TB disks in every slot (a hardware limitation). But that's not an issue with the RN4200v2. So you should upgrade the firmware - that will let you use the larger disks.

Your firmware is very old. How large is the disk you have inserted? Was it working in the NAS before you tried the reset?

ok...
you gave me the idea. i solved the problem now.
I ´ve tried a WD Red 4tb, Seagate st4000, WD Green 3tb, WD blue 3TB . Same problem for all disks.
Now, i´ve added a 1tb wd blue and it works. ^^
Probably it´s the old firmware that can´t handle larger space than 2tb.
Thanks man!!
