RN 516 as FTPS Server

Hi,

I want to backup the user dir of a remote mac osx computer to my rn 515, useing fpts.

I enabled fpts in the setting, setup a share with ftp only access and the user ftpuser, this user has read/write access to this share.

I tried two mac osx apps, goodsync and transmit, both apps tell me they do not have access to this share.

Where can I look to solve the problem?

Andreas

Re: RN 516 as FTPS Server

This is very common. Don't use file acces permissions unless specifically required. Use network permissions. This is secure as users are already filtered by the network permissions then.
You might need to perform a reset of the file access permissions with the relevant button in the GUI

Hi Miraculix1,

Which Firmware are you on? Could you post an image of the permission setting/s of the said share (where FTP/s is being used)?

Kind regards,

Re: RN 516 as FTPS Server

when I set the filepermissions to everyone and the network permissions to ftpuser and admin I have access to the share.

If I set the filepermission to ftpuser and admin only there is no access.

Is this secure and the right way?
