Noticed when logging into Frontivew a couple of weeks ago the message about volume resynching, and thought nothing of it. Logged in again today and it is still resynching.
I am running out of space so 2 x 4TB disks are being delivered on Monday.
The volume information page is showing the time remaining as 189:08:04 which I assume is 189 hours (surely not days!) which seems very slowto sync 2TB of data. Is that normal?
Should I wait for the volme sync to finish before inserting a new 4TB disk?
That does sound a bit long. It could be that the drive has problems that are slowing the sync and made the drive drop out of the array in the first place. If so, it will ultimately fail the resync. But, unfortunately, the OS does seem to just try to continue the sync instead of aborting when there are such problems.
