RND2000 Duo
This is my first Duo so my Question is the RND2000 comes with 256MB of Ram can I change to 1GB to improve my PERFORMANCE?

You can. Performance improvement would likely be minimal not noticeable though. Also 3rd party memory upgrades are not supported. Before trusting the memory (choose memory recently posted to community compatibility list) please run memory test at least twice: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu

The ReadyNAS Duo (RND2000) is an older model. If the RAM doesn't match the original module's specs as closely as possible it's not going to be compatible. If you insist on upgrading the RAM choose memory recently added to the community compatibility list for the Duo/NV/NV+.

I can certainly recommend this 1GB Crucial CT12864X335 as i have it in my duo and works a treat. It is/was on the HCL.
