Hi All,
This may sound silly but our readynas needs a HDD replacing and I cant get the hotswap drive out. The release catches appear to be covered with a circluar piece of plastic - they are not rectangular like in the manual. Can anyone help this is really frustrating.

It's not silly, its a flawed older tray design.
There are two options:
One is to push a stiff paperclip or a pushpin into the hole in the center of the button ("A" below).
If you look through the slots at "B" (flashlight might be needed) you can see a release that you can also slide with a stiff paperclip or a small screwdriver. That often works better.
There is also a youtube that might be helpful:

Re: RNDP6610 HDD release catch
Hello sygenltd,
Here's the YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKczCPiqc-4
The disk trays with round button are the old disk trays, rectangular ones were made because of the stuck issue.
We hope this helps, let us know.
