RSYNC Error
Hi,
I'm a Systems Engineer currently investigating an RSYNC issue for one of our large clients. We have 25 ReadyNAS's at remote sites backing up to a Main site over VPN. Two of the sites are failing with the same error and all the other sites are working fine:
rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes to socket [sender]: Connection reset by peer (104)
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (2519 bytes received so far) [sender]
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(601) [sender=3.0.8]
It completes 4 files then failes. It backs up over VPN to a DeltaCopy Server program running on Server 2008.
I've done a lot of searching for this error but haven't found any answers. Is anyone able to offer any help.
The NAS's are :
1. ReadyNAS NV+ - RAIDiator 4.1.14
2. ReadyNAD Ultra 4 - RAIDiator 4.2.19

Re: RSYNC Error
You have an older version of Rsync on your Ultra 4 than on the NV+. Are you able to update the firmware on the Ultra 4?

Re: RSYNC Error
In 4.1.9 (Sparc) and 4.2.20 (x86) we updated rsync to 3.0.9
I do find with rsync you want the same version of rsync on both units.
