RSync seems to copy everything and crashes
Working on RSync between my 516 (6.2.2) and my Pro6 (6.3.3). Started by backing up via NFS and then switched to rsync for incremental backups. Rsync seems to be copying everything even though the logs say "Incremental." It is also crashing with a Connection Reset by Peer (104) error. If I start the job again, it seems to work fine.

Re: RSync seems to copy everything and crashes
Did you just edit the nfs backup job or did you create a new job for rsync?
Is rsync enabled on both devices and on all relevant shares on both devices.
Can you post your backup job config?

Re: RSync seems to copy everything and crashes
Yes, I just took my NFS jobs and turned them into rsync jobs. I noticed that the destination paths did not keep so I had to redo those but all the other parameters seemed fine. All jobs are successful at this point (I still have two to play with yet), but it is still odd as to why it decided to recopy everything and what was up with the 2 errors.
Right now, the only non-default option I've checked is for the backup to reset permissions to the destination NAS as I hope to ultimately want to be able to use the backup NAS as a mirror at the remote location.
Thanks.

Re: RSync seems to copy everything and crashes
When you setup the nfs job, try not selecting the change permissions option.
If the backup nas has the same users on it then the existing permissions should be fine.
The rsync job is setup to do a full backup first time only?
I don't know what that error means.

Grr. Did it again, but right away on my Video share...:

rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at io.c(785) [sender=3.1.1]

Re: RSync seems to copy everything and crashes
Ooops. Figured this last one out: destination share rsync was still set for read-only. The other fails are still a mystery.
