ReadyNAS 104 Firmware 6.2.2 is Freezing (Locks Up)
Hi Guys,
can anyone help with this problem i'm having with my ReadyNAS 104. The NAS just stops working "Freez or Locks Up" 3 or 4 hours after i turn it on and I can't restore to factory defaults as I have data stored on my hard drives (X-RAID).

Re: ReadyNAS 104 Firmware 6.2.2 is Freezing (Locks Up)
Can you explain what exactly happens, do you lose access to shares, the GUI, both?
What do you need to do to regain access?
First backup your data.
Then test each disk using vendor tools. You'll need to remove each disk in turn with the nas OFF, connext the disk to a PC an run extended tests.
Have you received any messages about disk problems?
What does the smart data say about the disks?
Do you have any apps?
Do you have snapshots enabled?
Is antivirus enabled?
How full is your volume?

I lose access to the shares and the GUI.
I don't have any Apps installed, the antivirus is disable and I do have the Snapshots enable. How full is my Volume, Is 62% Full. my configurations is two 2Gig HD and one 4Gig HD.

Smart data?
Do you have a backup?
You could try upgrading the firmware to 6.2.3 beta 9 first. There have been some more fixes for 104 hangs I see.
If that does not help, test all the disks.

Download the logs, you will find SMART in disk_info.log (under "health") and in smart_history.log Check them before trying the data (post them here if you don't know what they mean).
Betas are in this forum, 6.2.3 is here: viewtopic.php?f=154&t=78866

Re: ReadyNAS 104 Firmware 6.2.2 is Freezing (Locks Up)
There is a known bug with your ST2000DL003-9VT166 drives that can lead to them dropping out of a RAID array. See http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=64510
