ReadyNAS DUO boot but no access
I have a ReadyNAS DUO (unfortunately it is our primary network share).
It stopped responding to the LAN (no ping, no http).
Holding down the power button, it DID NOT power off.
We pulled the power plug.
Put the power plug back in and the unit did power back up.
The blue power light blinked for a bit (about 10 minutes) and went green.
The ACT light below it, blinks like crazy with pauses every so often.
It has now been 7 hours like this (ACT light blinks like crazy with pauses every so often).
We still cannot access the unit via ping or http.
Unfortunately, we don't have RAIDar loaded on any machine and I cannot find the CD right now.
Please HELP! Thanks.

Re: ReadyNAS DUO boot but no access
You can download RAIDar from here: http://www.readynas.com/downloads
Try it, but I doubt you'll see the NAS if you can't ping it. Can you check the network lights on the ethernet port and report what you see?
You should also open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in this thread) to include your case number.

Re: ReadyNAS DUO boot but no access
The network lights on the gigabit switch shows green (link and gigabit speed).
Here is the interesting thing. My workstation's ARP table shows the MAC address of the ReadyNAS DUO even though it won't respond to the ping. Even if I clear the ARP table, and try to ping, the ARP entry reappears; so the ReadyNAS is somewhat responding to the ping request (I guess).
The good news, after about 12 hours, the ACT light stopped blinking. After waiting another hour, I still wasn't able to ping it. So I decided to try and power it off by holding the power button until it blinked. Then it shutdown properly. So I turned it back on and now it works again (I can ping it and get to the FrontView via http).
Looking over the logs, I see that the SMART on each drive has increased by a considerable amount (20+). Looks like the drives are starting to go, maybe?
