Hi,
We live in Thailand and we regularly have power outages.
And I guess that's what's happened today, as both my servers were down (Readynas Duo v2 and Readynas NV= v2) were out today, even though we have a UPS.
My Duo server was still running on firmware image (5.3.10), whereas NV= was running in 5.3.11.
I managed to get my Duo running again, by doing a server re-set.
On my NV+, this wasn't successful, so I loaded the previous firmware version.
This didn't go smoothly, and I needed a number of hardware re-sets before the system would boot up again.
It's loaded 5.3.10, but it still won't recognise my data folder.

Hello Marc_Nelis,
Those are your options for now, contact support or proceed to factory reset since you have backup.
If you choose factory reset, this will allow you to reinstall your NAS and create a new volume. Then just restore all your data from the back up.

Hello Marc_Nelis,
Do you have RAIDar? What does RAIDar show for the disks inserted to the NAS?
Also, if you are able to get to the dashboard, please check the Volumes (System > Overview > Volumes), post what it shows.
Check also the Disk Status with Disk Smart.

JennC
Raidar shows all drives are available and ready and healthy.
Volumes (System > Overview > Volumes) shows blank.
Disk Smart:All 4 drives up and running.
I have downloaded the log file, but I'm not clear as to how to attach it

PM -> the "private message" facility in the forum. Just click on the "Messages" link on the top right.
If the log zip file is too big to attach, you can email it (the email address is part of this guide: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21543/~/how-do-i-send-all-logs-to-a-readynas-community... ). Or you can save it in google drive (or equivalent). If you do either of these, PM JennC with the subject line of the email or the web link.

The idea is not to post the link publically... That protects you from any possibility of private information leakage.

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ v2 is unable to access the data volume.
Hello Marc_Nelis,
Do you have any USB disk plugged in to the NAS? If so, please unplug and see if same problem.
You may really need to contact support center, they might offer you per incident support contract as the warranty of your NAS already ran out.

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ v2 is unable to access the data volume.
JennC,
I've raised a ticket to the support center, but I'm not yet ready to make the call to the US.
Can you advise whether the procedure in https://onlyblueatwork.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/netgear-readynas-access-recovery/
would be able to help me ?
The volume scan on my NV+ v2 hasn't been running properly sicne ages.
So maybe I need to access the root directly.
Can you advise?
Thx

Using that would have the same implications as using root SSH.

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ v2 is unable to access the data volume.
Team
Additional info.
When I performed a volumes scan, it showed that drive 2 was damaged.
Even though thois wasn't visible initially, not did I get any notification.
During the process, the Readynas got stuck in "Boot / initialisation " process.
I had to pull the plug and perform a Factory reset.
I had backed up most my stuff.
Remember to Back-up
