I have a ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer (RNDP600E-100NAS) that is running on firmware version RAIDiator 4.2.28 with memory of 1024 MB [4-5-5-15 DDR2] with 2 - 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200 RPM, 32MB (ST31500341AS) hard disk drives.
Current usage of the 2 disks, X-RAID2 configuration, is about 53%
I have just started to utilize the backup feature (Remote: Windows/NAS (Timestamp) on the Front Panel to run a backup of 'volume c' to a 2TB HDD that is mounted in my Windows 7 machine as drive 'D'.
I get a 'cannot allocate memory' failure.
Any help would be appreciated

Which services or add-ons are you running?

The error message is reported to me in the 'Backup Job Log'

The email never arrived. Can you check you sent it to the correct address?
Perhaps also try sending it from a different email address.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. We thought that's what it meant but we didn't see the link on top. So I checked the messaging option, I am not sure how to attach 61 log files, sorry for the confusion on my part.

You'd need to save them on a server somewhere (put a zip in google drive for instance) and put a link in the PM.

Update: These changes appeared to have helped significantly. The backup ran for nearly 6 hours, however there was an errror message again. Zipped log file will be PM'd.
When I compare the file quantity on the source to the backup it was 7 files short (~4MB worth) out of the 101,147 total files.
I think I am close to having a successful backup, but I can't locate the error message to see if there was/is a problem.

All the backup job logs I can see are from late December.

Which oddly enough adds up to 6 files, 1 short of the 7 differential.
I have since removed this files and I am running another complete backup to test, previous changes. Backup started at 4:12 PM EST, so should be finished between 10 and 11. More to come

Previous backup attempt also had errors because the offending files when copied and then deleted were transferred to the recycle bin. I removed them from the recycle bin and reran backup this morning with complete success after 6 hours.
One other backup related question... is it okay to use (read/write) the fileserver while the backup is running?

I've had backups fail when files are deleted on the source while the backup is running (though whether that happens might depend on the specific backup protocol being used). So updating files is best avoided.
There are no issues if the files are simply being read.
