ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
Hello,
I tried to update the latest firmware directly connecting to the IP address of the NAS by web interface.
Now power up the NAS, remains with the flashing blue light on the power button.
I already tried using the recovery tool via USB stick (downloaded from here: http://kb.netgear.com/29952/How-do-I-use-the-USB-Recovery-Tool-on-my-ReadyNAS -OS-6-storage-system) but when I run the "Netgear USB storage Recovery Utility" program by entering the data of both product (ReadyNAS OS6) and model (RN102) in the drop down menu does not me you can enter the path last downloaded firmware.
How can I do? There is another tool that you can use?
Look kindly feedback about it.
Best regards.
Maurizio

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
You need to put the ARM firmware image in the Marvell folder as per the instructions.
I would suggest using the 6.6.1 beta firmware.
Which firmware did you update from btw?

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
Thank you for your reply.
I do not remember the version of the firmware but it was the last available on the website.
There is a recovery process? I only need to insert the USB key created with the recovery tool and turn on the NAS?
Unfortunately I do not know the IP address of the NAS.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards.

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
So you're saying you updated from 6.5.2 to 6.6.0?
You can see if you can find the I.P. of the NAS using RAIDar: http://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads
The USB Recovery Tool is in a location where there's a bunch of different folders. One is a Marvell folder. If you put the ARM firmware image in there then when you run the tool you'll be able to select that firmware image when you run the tool.

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
Exact I was upgrading from version 6.5.2.
Now that I have the USB key ready with the upgrade how do I run it on my nas?
Just follow the following steps?
1.Power down your ReadyNAS storage system.
2.Insert the prepared USB drive into the front USB port.
3.Press and hold the Backup button, then power on the ReadyNAS system and continue to hold the Backup button for up to 15 seconds, depending on your ReadyNAS model.
If your ReadyNAS system is a 2-bay model, you might not know when the unit is entering USB Recovery mode unless your USB drive has an activity indicator. If your USB drive does not have an activity indicator, hold the Reset button for a full 30 seconds to ensure that your ReadyNAS system is in USB Recovery mode.
4.Wait for the ReadyNAS system to finish with the recovery and power down.
5.After the system powers down, remove the USB drive and try booting normally.
Thanks a lot.
Have a nice day.
Best regards.

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
That should head hold the backup button for a full 30 seconds, not reset button.
Yes that's the process. Not all USB keys are compatible.

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
Thanks for this news.
I tried downloading the new update on the USB key (Kingston DataTraveler G4), but to no avail.
I followed the steps but both the power LED and Backup blink fast without stopping.
How can I do?
Best Regards.

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
You may need to try multiple USB keys.
I have sent you a PM with some other possible things you could try.

Re: ReadyNAS RN10200 Failed Firmware Update
Dear @mdgm-ntgr,
my procedure looks like this here: https://kb.netgear.com/22892/How-do-I-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-ReadyNAS-102-202-212-or-312
To enter the "boot mode" I have to hold down the reset button on power even if only for a few seconds.
Subsequently, if I press the Backup button (step 6) to select the different modes, I do not appear in any way the "boot menu" with all 4 fixed LEDs on except at the beginning when I turn on the NAS with the active reset (point 4).
How can I enter the "boot mode" and start the recovery process from the flash pen?
Help me please!!!
I look forward to your reply.
