ReadyNas Duo problem
I have a Netgear NAS as above, I guess it's getting on for 3-4 years old now. A couple of weeks ago it stopped working .. ie blue light just flashed, RAIDar couldn't find it. So I bit the bullet and reinstalled it all from scratch, reformatting the disk. It seemed to work, so I bought a new disk (from the NAS recommended list) and did a full installation, and restored all my music (aren't backups great!)
This worked for about 2 weeks, but it has failed again .. it turned itself off, and now won't boot up .. blue light flashing for hours, RAIDar can't see it.
Is it the end of the line for the NAS? I put all the latest firmware etc on it when I rebuilt it a couple of weeks ago.

Re: ReadyNas Duo problem
It sounds like a hardware failure to me. Were you looking at the logs and the health page in frontview? It is conceivable that the external power brick is causing the problem. If so, you might be able to get a replacement.
If you bought the NAS when you joined the forum, then your 3 year warranty just expired. Though if you joined the forum first, you might still be covered if you act quickly.

Re: ReadyNas Duo problem
There are some allegedly compatible replacement supplies for sale if you google - for instance http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-ReadyNA ... B007Z5E48W
Could be worth a gamble. Netgear might also be willing to sell you one (so maybe on on-line support request would still be useful).
