Readynas NV+ will not power on

We lost power in our house....NV+ was battery backed up but it was longer than the battery could handle.

When I went to turn on the unit, nothing happened. Pushing the button resulted in no blue light, no fan startup, etc.

Advice requested.

Thanks, John

BTW....I have a second unit and it came up with no problem.

Edit....checked and unit is an NV+

Did you have a scheduled power on/off routine set up?

Re: Readynas NV+ will not power on

Since John doesn't have a NV, the link in the FAQ doesn't apply to his unit as the entry states.

Did you notice a burning smell from the unit?

There are a known range of units that have faulty PSUs. Take a look at http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10259

Is your serial in that range?

Sorry for the delay...

Yes, I am in that serial # range. What action do you recommend?

Thanks...John

Re: Readynas NV+ will not power on

Give NetGear tech support a call. Depending what region you are in, they may offer a free replacement even if your unit is out of warranty as your unit had a faulty PSU.

If you purchased your ReadyNAS new on/after Aug 21, 2007 it would be covered by warranty.
