I have setup Time Machine on my RN104. It was working at one point in time but now it has stopped. All it get is preparing disk... I have recreated both the time machine back job on my ReadyNas and Mac. But after the first back finishes with success, the next job it will not stop erroring . My console gets filled up with afpfs_vnop_ioctl: afpfs_FindForkRef failed -1 error, 100,000s of them and backupd is running 100%. I am running firmware 6.6.0.
Stopping the back process stops the error. Looking at the error it seems something is wrong with AFP (or netgears version)
afpfs_vnop_ioctl: afpfs_FindForkRef failed -1 error,
afpfs_vnop_ioctl: afpfs_FindForkRef failed -1 error,
afpfs_vnop_ioctl: afpfs_FindForkRef failed -1 error,
afpfs_vnop_ioctl: afpfs_FindForkRef failed -1 error,
So my question is reinstalling the OS worth trying or is there a known issue?

I have it fixed. The problem turned out to be a know issue with my Mac. I forget the CVE but basically I move my keychain DIR from library to my desktop. Rebooted. That fixed it. Of cource I had to create keychain passwords. 🙂

Re: Reinstall OS?
Hello Freebird317,
May I ask where exactly do you see the error message? If you can post a screenshot, please do.

Hello Freebird317,
Do you get any error in the admin page's backup job logs?

Re: Reinstall OS?
No. Ive tried to SSH to view logs but lack knowledge on how to. Using iStat I can see the CPU on the NAS is pegged. I ve tried an app to view the logs (loganalyzer) and i get ZERO logs recorded during this time. I am thinking the CPU on my nas is to busy.

Re: Reinstall OS?
What apps do you have installed?
Did you try rebooting the NAS?

Re: Reinstall OS?
Do you have a backup of the data?
I doubt that a reinstall will help, but it likely won't hurt either. Maybe manually install 6.6.1?
