Renaming USB Storage on RN314
I currently have a ReadyNAS 314 device running OS 6.6.0.
Currently, we are using this device to copy backups to an external USB drive, and then taking them off-site. We have 2 drives that we are rotating, but it seems that the ReadyNAS has labeled them USB_HDD_1 and USB_HDD_2 and I cannot change them. I have searched everywhere in the SSH access to see if there is somewhere where I can manually change them, but I cannot find anything.
I understand that this is a feature that has been requested, but I need to get both of these drives to appear as USB_HDD_1 ASAP so our backups are not complicated. Currently it takes a lot of manual intervention to re-sync the backups once the drives have been swapped.
Is there any way that I can do this using SSH or do I have to open a support ticket?
Is there an older version of the firmware that I can roll back to so that I can rename the drives?

Re: Renaming USB Storage on RN314
Good day kbrownremed.
Welcome to the community.
I think there is nothing we can do regarding the way the ReadyNAS identifies the plugged USB devices.
As far as I know, you can edit your back-up job in way that instead of the name of the device name; the positioning of the USB device is designated as the destination (example: USB Back Top, USB Front). Doing this would make the back-up go to the same USB port regardless of its name.
As for downgrading, NETGEAR clearly stated not to downgrade. Below is a link for the firmware release:
