Setting up TimeMachine for two or more Macs
I'm just rebuilding my ReadyNAS NV (a sad story best left untold) and setting it up for TimeMachine.
I notice that the page on configuring TimeMachine (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detai ... %2F-sparc-)) makes no mention of the distinction between Security Mode "Share" and Security Mode "User". But it should.
I was lucky enough to find viewtopic.php?f=28&t=59356 before turning on TimeMachine. I switched my ReadyNAS to Security Mode "User" before doing any backups, which was lucky because changing it post-facto is relatively difficult.
So if any admins are listening, please consider adding a note on the "Easy Time Machine Setup" page, recommending User mode in homes with more than one Mac.
