USB issues of Readynas 316
I have a readynas 316, and like most I use USB drives for backup. Recently, I've had trouble. I use the small form factor high capacity drives (5TB) that are now inexpensive and ubiquitous. Recently, my system often doesn't detect the drives, or if it does, it take minutes. Also, the OS doesn't shut down or reboot properly, it hangs on "system rebooting."
This happens with several drives, all of which work well on my windows PC, and it happens regardless of which of the 3 USB ports I use.
When and if the drives are detected, the backups proceed normally, and are about as fast as I would expect (about a gigabyte a minute). But too often the drives are not detected.
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm running OS 6.10.3; and the issue occurs with both NTFS and ext4 formated USB drives.
Thanks!!
