Hello - I have an Ultra 6 with the Surveillance app installed. I now found there is an required update but if I select the x86 addon surveillance_1.4.2-3_amd64.deb and try to install it, my Ultra 6 says it is not the right package. "Update file is not valid for this architecture." So, what do I use for the update?
Thanks,
Tony

The surveillance app ought to be on http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24551 but the link is broken.
Hopefully @mdgm-ntgr or @Skywalker can get that fixed.

Re: Updated Surveillance for Ultra 6
Thanks. I'll look for it once it's fixed.
Also, I have another problem. I changed computers, and now if I use the old Survellience (1.3.2.4) to do palyback, I get a popup that says "Can't load file: "blah\Appdata\Roaming\NUUO\ISSres/images/Playback/OsdText.bmp". I'm assuming I need to reinstall a Surveillance package on my new PC that takes care of that? If yes, which one?
Thanks,
Tony

Re: Updated Surveillance for Ultra 6
The 1.3.2.4 add-on is available here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RNNVR01L-1000S.aspx#download
However you are already running that.

I think he is looking to get the security fix announced here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30275/~/readynas-surveillance%3A-security-vulnerabilit...
Does this vulnerability extend to OS 4.2? If so, are there plans to fix it on that platform?

I believe there are no plans to fix it for RAIDiator-x86 4.2.x unfortunately.

Re: Updated Surveillance for Ultra 6
Is there a way to check with Netgear about this? I paid a lot of money for those Ultra 6 NAS devices (I have 2, although only 1 is used for surveillance), and would like to continue to use them. BTW, both of mine are updated to 4.2.28.
For the security problem with the Surveillance app, what specifically is the problem? Is it something that could be fixed with just a change to one of the Linux kernel modules? If true, maybe the fix is not too difficult to do. Or with a script, I might be able to do it myself without bricking the device.
Thanks,
Tony

Given the price paid for the surveillance license, I'd be a very angry customer if I'd purchased it and gotten this response.
If customers want to complain about this, who should they contact? Note Netgear recently backpedaled on dropping support for their vuezone cameras, so complaining does sometimes work.
