Upgraded from 6.4.0 to 6.4.1... external backup drive disappeared...

Every frickin upgrade is an adventure. Anyway...

RN104 was running 6.4.0. Nightly backups to external USB drive were working perfectly. The same day that I upgraded to 6.4.1, I got a message that the nightly backup failed because the destination wasn't there. After investigating I see that the NAS no longer sees the external USB backup drive. Wonderful. The disk is recognized by my desktop, just not the NAS.

Anybody have similar issue? Fix?

Thanks.

Hi spotcatbug,

Plug in your external storage device in your PC and run the windows disk error checking feature. Once it finished the scan, plug it back to the ReadyNAS and see if it shows up. Also, try other external storage devices to isolate.

Kind regards,

I have the same problem, with my USB disk 500Go (the filesystem is NTFS). Very slow backups.

The file system is EXT4.

Well this is odd. I just restarted the NAS (again) and this time the external drive was recognized.

Anything I should do while the NAS can see the drive? In terms of keeping it working, I mean.
