Vista share setup - help!

Hi,

I have a new Duo on a simple network with one Vista (home basic) and one Win7 machine. The 7 machine can see the default 'backup' and 'media' shares on the NAS no problem at impressive speeds.

The Vista one is having problems! Usng Raidar from the Vista box I can see the NAS (on its fixed IP) but when I try to browse I get "Windows cannot access \\(the ip address)" and a Windows error code of 0x80070035.

I can ping that IP fine from the Vista machine, and can bring up the web interface on that IP. I have file sharing on, firewalls off, IP v6 disabled, etc etc.

In network and shariing centre i can see the nas, but with only device webpage/ shortcut / properties on right click. - on the working win7 box i can browse.

Am I missing something obvious?

If you have anti-virus, try to disable its firewall. Try also to update the driver your NIC.

Firewalls, AV etc all disabled. NIC and all other drivers checked and updated. No change.

Borrowed a Vista laptop to try that - it connects OK.
