Volume Exp. Fail - RNAS Pro Pioneer Ed. [X-RAID2]

I can't seem to be able to expand my NAS using my new drive. I keep getting an expansion failure (see log below). I had removed a 1TB drive that kept having increasing allocation errors. I went ahead and replaced it with a 3TB drive (channel 3 below). Right now all i have available on the NAS is 8322 GB. How can i fix this? I am not that well versed in everything ReadyNAS. I tried a firmware update just in case it was that and and i also tried to initiate the volume expansion and no good. I am at a loss here. BTW, the NAS has something like 6 TB of data on it right now. HELP!!! Thank you.

These are my drives:

Ch 1 : Hitachi HUA722010CLA330 [931 GB] 927 GB allocated
Ch 2 : Hitachi HUA722010CLA330 [931 GB] 927 GB allocated
Ch 3 : WDC WD30EFRX-68EUZN0 [2794 GB] 2790 GB allocated - NEW DRIVE
Ch 4 : Seagate ST3000DM001-1CH166 [2794 GB] 2790 GB allocated
Ch 5 : Seagate ST33000651AS [2794 GB] 2790 GB allocated
Ch 6 : Seagate ST33000651AS [2794 GB] 2790 GB allocated

Re: Volume Exp. Fail - RNAS Pro Pioneer Ed. [X-RAID2]

What disks were installed when you last did a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything)?

If you had 6x1TB disks (or smaller disks) installed you have likely hit the 8TB expansion limit. You cannot expand the volume by more than 8TB over the life of the volume.

The solution is to backup your data and do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) and restore your data from backup.

That definitely sounds like the problem. Now i just gotta find a place to put 6TB of data ... i guess I am going to have to buy another NAS!

That sounds like the best solution.
