Re: firmware update doenst work

Is your issue that the firmware updates failed?  (That is the web ui still says you are running 6.1.6).

Re: firmware update doenst work

Yes, message FW Version 6.1.6.

Found another Thread (workaround):

Info under:
http://kb.netgear.com/29974/ReadyNAS-OS-6-RN100-RN2120-cannot-update-due-to-invalid-checksum?cid=wmt...
(Checksumproblem)

But this works only from FW 6.1.9. Informatiosn about older Versions and resoultion -> link is broken.

Re: firmware update doenst work

That article only applied to 6.4.0 upgrades.

Do you have any apps installed?  Also is ssh enabled?

Re: firmware update doenst work

It seems 6.2.5 was on the internal flash but the OS on the disks was still on 6.1.6.

Your system should update to 6.5.2 when you next reboot.

Re: firmware update doenst work

Hallo,

Thanks a lot. -> after reboot 6.5.2 was activated. After this i take upgrade to 6.6.0 -> it works.

But my first problem was "usb Device 2TB WD Mybook" could not be found.

One Time Systemlog wrote:

System: Externes Speichergerät ist verbunden, aber das Dateisystem wird nicht erkannt.

Filesystem was NTFS, Partition deleted on PC (usb connection) -> at netgear nothing works. Use antother data cable, nothing works. test USB hard drive on PC -> works fine.

after download actual log files:

file: usb_storage.txt

*** Connected devices ***
/dev/disk/external/3:1:WDC_WD20EZRX-00D8PB0:WD-WCC4N7HCDHKE:480:-22 -> ../../sdb

file: usb_device.txt

1-0:1.0
1-1 product=My Book 1230 idProduct=1230 idVendor=1058 devnum=3 speed=480
1-1:1.0
2-0:1.0
3-0:1.0

but no entry under System/Overview ;-(

any idea?

-> want use this drive for offsite backup.

Re: firmware update doenst work

I'm not sure on the cause of the USB issue, but there are some fixes related to USB detection in 6.6.1 beta.

Re: firmware update doenst work

Did you check the shares page?

Also, the log should include a "System: External storage device connected." message.
