readynas 3138 freezes at night
I have a netgear readynas 3138 running firmware 6.10.8.
It runs fine during the day, but sometime during the night it freezes, and the network connection is lost.
The network connection is good, my switch shows network lights, and so does the NAS.in the morning.
In the morning, the power light is on the network light is flashing, but raidar can not find it. and pings do not come back.
When I check the logs, there is nothing about it freezing or stopping.
When I check the performance logs, it does not show any thing before the restart.
I must restart the unit so raidar can see the unit.

Re: readynas 3138 freezes at night
Do you have SSH enabled, and are you comfortable with some simple Linux commands? I suggest you open an SSH session and then run TOP and leave it running through the night to see if you also lose that connection and, if not, whether something looks amiss (like some task taking 100% of the CPU).

Re: readynas 3138 freezes at night
Thank you for the reply.
No I do not have SSH enabled and not that familiar with Linux commands.
I can check to see if the CPU load.
How do you check to see the if the CPU load?

Re: readynas 3138 freezes at night
I found out how to see CPU usage, but right now the system is syncing.
I will know more when its done, and I can run a back up in the day time.

Re: readynas 3138 freezes at night
I just started doing a back-up, it was a SQL file, pushing at 800Mbps, cpu usage was less than 30%
