Password not accepted

Bought a new extender and it won't accept my router password. I'm not to computer savvy so I'm not much help. Any ideas?

Did you run the setup and already set your router password into the extender?

I thought I had set it up correctly but when I go to add a device it will not take my router password. I'm working with a netgear support guy now via e-mail and will work on it when I have a bit more time. Thanks for your time....
