Hi - Hope you can help! OS Win 8.1 A6100 Software Version 1.0.0.17 Installed the software, plugged in the adapter at the software prompt, then the system bluescreens immediately: Address A6100.sys+168e6f Bug Check String SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Bug Check Code 0x1000007e Parameter 1 ffffffff`c0000005 Parameter 2 00000000`00000000 Parameter 3 ffffd001`4cdace28 Parameter 4 ffffd001`4cdac63017KViews0likes1CommentAdapter keeps connecting and disconnecting
I use my adapter to connect to the school's internet (our school now requires us to connect to the internet) and this morning I encountered a problem. I'm looking at my internet connections right now and my network adapter keeps disappearing and reappearing every 3 seconds I am also looking at device manager and each time it disconnects device manager refreshes and NETGEAR A6100 WiFi Adapter still remains, and only disappears if I physically take the USB out. It was working perfectly before and I can't think of anything that may of caused this. I normally just take it out of my computer after each lesson and put it in a small plastic bag, safe from harm. I have tried updating it and I am using an ASUS F550WA 15inch touchscreen notebook. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.11KViews0likes1CommentA6100
New A6100 Adapter Windows 8.1 OS will not load with the adapter in the USB port. If I remove the adapter Windows load normally. I can then insert the adapter, it connects and works well. If I have to shut down and restart Windows will not boot unless I pull the adapter out. Another thing, when the computer is up and running and I pull the adapter out of the USB, my computer shuts down and does an restart automatically.11KViews0likes1CommentA6100 using CPU to 100% on Win7
I bought this adapter last week at Walmart to install in an older computer (previous adapter broke during transportation). After installing, the CPU is always busy. The performance graphic shows CPU at 100%, and the task manager shows the process A6100.exe jumping to the top of CPU usage constantly. The computer was extremely un-usable. My computer has Windows 7 ultimate 32 bits. 2GB RAM. I did a search and found comments (from last year) in Amazon about the driver having a bug and trying to find an update once per second. NetGear took information but there doesn't seem to be resolution to the problem. There are several other comments with similar issue. I ejected and removed the adapter from my computer, but the driver kept running and taking most of the CPU time. I restarted and the driver still ran and kept taking most of the CPU time. So finally I uninstalled the software and my computer went back to being normal and responsive. Has there been an update to address this specific problem?:confused:10KViews0likes1CommentA6100 not getting proper AC speeds (connecting at 86mbps)
Hi, I am fairly lost here, as this is my first AC device on my network. Through my ISP, I have the NetGear C6250 router and just put in the A6100 dongle to take advantage of it. It connects fine and acknowledges it is connecting via AC, however it's only connecting at 86 mpbs, which is close to N speeds. For debugging, I have switched my phones of the 5 ghz, so the only device using that antenna on the router is my desktop, I've rebooted both router and desktop, same speed. My desktop has line of sight, sitting 5m from the router. I've tried searching for additional settings for the driver as well as on the router without luck. Any ideas? Defect adapter perhaps? Thanks in advance /Lars7.8KViews0likes3Comments
