Please could you consider adding the TUN profile in the OpenVPN server software already installed on the R7500 router to enable access from iOS and Android devices. This is a very practical and reasonable ask for a modern day piece of technology. Or, create a VPN app for Android and IOS that works with the existing VPN implementation on Netgear routers. I tried to set up the modem/router manually, following the printed instructions to the letter. No good. Had to download the app, which I wanted to avoid for precisely the experience I had. Who wrote this app? Did ANYONE test it? Maddening. Wanders in circles. I finally called the support number, waited on hold, someone with an accent that suggested they were Not From Around Here answer and my call was immediately cut off. I am livid.81Views1like3CommentsCan't Access Orbi RBRE 960 After A Reboot
A couple of days ago I used the Orbi app on my android phone to access my router. Just something I do once in a while to check on a remote system. I noticed that one of my satellites was not connected, I have two satellites. I thought that rebooting the router might fix the problem so I initiated a reboot from the app. After the router came back online, I was unable to access it from the app. The message I keep getting on the app leads me to believe that Anywhere Access is not working or enabled on the router now. I have a video server at the remote location that I can log into using TeamViewer so I used that to get access to the local network. On that server I brought up a browser and tried logging in to the router using the 'routerlogin.net' URL as well as the IP address and all I get is a "Connection Refused" message. I've also tried the default IP addresses of 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 and those don't work either. And yes, I tried other browsers and also cleared cache, etc. I've also been able to reboot the router a couple of times since I have it plugged into a 'Keep Connect' device that allows me to cycle power remotely. The good news is that for now the WiFi is working fine and all devices are connected and have internet access. I've read a few other posts for other Orbi routers that mention having to do a factory reset in order to regain access and go through the setup process again. These posts are not recent though. Since it's probably going to be several weeks before I can get out to that remote location, I thought I'd ask the community if anyone else has run into this problem and has successfully resolved it without having to do a factory reset. I've contacted support and have an open case, but I haven't heard back from them since I opened it. Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated. So we just confirmed what we've been reading online, if you have an orbi network and an android phone and you are having problems with your smart home, sonos, streaming, slow speeds, online gaming, etc... turn off your phone's wifi. Then see if it all comes back online... ours did. We were having mass choas problems with connections and slow speeds and thought it was all becuase of the netgear update, but once we turned off that phone, everything is perfect again, all satellites showing up, everything running fast, sonos working again.
