Hallo GS728TXPv3 with firmware: 6.2.2.40 This is a new switch and i just did the basic setup wenn i hung it in a DC. Besecly the old switch was still in use. Now that one is gone and i want to continue. But i can not change the name or system contact. The way i did: login -management. On a other netgear switch is a purple button but not on this one. I know normaly this is easy to do but... On some Cisco switches it is a brouwser thingy then it log in with a Microsoft brouser and you see the compleet interface. But never saw this on a Netgear. Anbody know of this???SolvedRegistering WAX610 to NETGEAR will be charged the fee?
I am wondering if I should register a WAX610 because I have no idea if registering will be required a fee. Please let me know if registering WAX610 to NETGER would be charged the fee or not. If I need to pay its fee , please tell me its cost too.Solved63Views0likes4CommentsWAX610 Ceiling Install
I DO see how to ceiling mount the ceiling base plate provided for this install... I do NOT see is where to drill the 2 anchor holes RELATIVE TO the PoE cable ceiling penetration point. Perhaps, a paper template would help. I just don't want the PoE cable to be visible after i slide/snap the WAX610 into place on the ceiling.153Views0likes4CommentsVlan Combine when Partition Walls controlled QSC

On my router I have a X550 interface tagged with a vlan ID of "4" which attaches to my switch port as a "trunk port with a vlan id of "4"" on the switch I have an "access Port with a vlan id of "4" that is connected to my "WBE750" RJ45. In the LAN settings of the WBE750 Do I place the vlan id of 4 in the "Untagged VLAN" setting or the "Managed VLAN" setting. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Hi, the power on start of self teset on my GSM4248UX is failing. I power on the switch and it starts with the test. All of the ports in the back of the unit light up for a few seconds. The power LED blinks a number of times then stays on red solid light. The switch is not accessible via the OBB or any of the ports. The switch was working fine for a day or tow, but then we updated the software to the latest firmware. V13.0.5.24 Then we started having this issue. I have tried the paper clip reset multiple times, but there are no indications that this is working at all. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.324Views0likes5CommentsWeb Config via Management VLAN but not pingable
Hi community, It might be a simple task to enable ping replies on a M4300 but I am not getting it. I can access the switch via Web Config (HTTP) but unable to ping. Same management VLAN without routing. Thanks a lot and best regards.Solved3.6KViews1like7CommentsWAX625 | No firmware 12.5.0.12 inside Netgear Insight list
Hi, On Jan 6, 2026, 10:02 PM PT, I received alert from Netgear Insight Alert (via e-mail) that new firmware is available: WAX625/WAX628 Firmware Version 12.5.0.12 I am interested in installing this firmware as it supposedly fixes issues with random reboots and I was experiencing something similar where device just locks itself and all SSIDs become unavailable and the only remedy was power restart. Those power restarts are not trivial for me because WAP is PoE powered and high up on the wall. I was forced to buy a timer which cuts out power to the whole network rack including main router (fw) and WAX625. I went into the Netgear Insight > Firmware > Set Target Firmware (upper right corner) to find this firmware 12.5.0.12 and it is not on the list. The latest I see is 11.8.0.9 which appears to be also the one I have installed and the latest one listed on the product page: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/wax625 So, I am wondering what is going on here? Why did I get this e-mail when the firmware is not generally available for install? Thank you!1.7KViews6likes13Comments[MS108TUP] - Switching - VLAN and routing
Hello everyone, I've this network configuration: Firewall --> MS108TUP --> Access Point Wifi The firewall and the AP is not a Netgear product. I've a domotic house so I've decided to separate the smart devices from the Main network. So in this case I've created an dedicated AP SSID with VLAN ID 20 only for manage smart devices. My network is also managed by a dedicated firewall device that manage VLAN Interfaces, WAN Interfaces, LAN Interfaces etc etc. Throught this Firewall, manage all the L2/L3 levels, from DHCP (one for every interfaces) to Privacy control, from Captive Portal (for Guests account) to Policy Control rule, ACL, Static route, QoS etc etc. So, I've configured the MS108TUP with several VLAN created in Switching mode (Switching --> VLAN). This is my current VLAN configuration on MS108TUP: MG1 is the Firewall uplink port, instead MG2 is the AP Uplink port. And this is the configuration of the interfaces into my Firewall: In this way, the AP create a SSID with VLAN 20, MG2 take the VLAN 20 and route it on MG1 VLAN 20; the firewall (MG1) take the VLAN 20 on port P2 and create it's own network with it's own dedicated DHCP and Static IPs list. All works good but when, from the firewall, I try to block traffic from/to the same interface/zone, not working. For example, if I try to block the SSH port from the tablet to my Raspberry PI and the tablet and the RPI is in the same interface/zone, the traffic is not blocked (my rule is: from DomoDevicesVLAN to DomoDevicesLAN source "tablet" destination "RPI" any service --> deny ----> this rule must deny the traffic for any service from the tablet to the RPI "using" the same zone but not work). Seems because the packet traffic is directly managed by the MS108TUP. Seems as the request is not passing throught the firewall, but remains at the switch level. For example: 192.168.0.5 --> 192.168.0.6 directly In this way the traffic is bypassing the firewall, because remain into the "switch" level Instead, how I can route the traffic thought the firewall? 192.168.0.5 --> 192.168.0.254 (Firewall interface) --> 192.168.0.6 In this way the traffic must pass into the firewall, and in this way I can have full-control on the packets and I can apply a Policy Control rule. Thank you so much Best Regards, Valerio1.2KViews0likes13Comments
