I bought a ProsSafe JGS524PE ethernet switch just over 1 year ago to help support some POE cameras. THe other day I got online to check my cameras and noticed that all of my POE cameras were offline. After doing some investigation, it looks like all of my POE ports are not powering up any POE devices. I even grabbed an unused camera to plug in as a test and it would not power up. However, if I connect the same camera using a power cable to the same POE port on the switch everything comes up just fine. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to determine what is wrong?Solved8.4KViews0likes10CommentsLB1111 not starting after Poe power loss
When i power the LB1111 via PoE everything works fine as long as i done unplug the netwok-cable an replug it into the netwok port. the lb1111 doesnot power on. i have to depress and press the power botton so that it powers on again. the same problem occours when switch the power via the poe-switch off for a short period. or when the switch losses power or reboots. is this a general problem with the device? when attached to a 12v power-supply it immediately powers on after power-lossLB1121 POE???
I submitted a support ticket over a month ago about this and still no answer/fix. The LB1121 will not restart via POE. I have used a Ubiquiti POE injector and a T-Link POE injector with the same results. Sometimes the injectors will power the divice, sometimes they won't and I get no power. I have had a LB1121 running for weeks at a time off the Ubiquiti 48v POE injector with no problem at all. If I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in, it will not restart. It works flawlessly off the 12v wall plug every time. But if I try to switch it to POE, nothing. After an unknown amount of time(days) of it sitting unplugged on my desk, it will all the sudden work again via POE. The entire senerio makes no sense. I can not find any patern to the problem....sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. I have already RMA'd my first unit and the replacment has the same problem. I have resorted to purchasing a 2nd LB1121 to keep as a backup for when I lose power or something. I have an extra to rotate in. They both have the same POE restart problem. Pretty annoying to say the least! That is a total of 3 LB1121 units I have had that all have the same issue. There is literally zero documentation about the POE standard used for the LB1121. Is it passive poe, is it 802.3at or af or what? Its a mistery because Netgear doesn't povide any information and their tech support has no answers. What voltage is required for the LB1121 to start via POE? How may amps does the LB1121 use? What specification are required for a POE injector that is compatible with the LB1121? Providing some detailed POE requirements for your product would probably go a long way! It seems crazy that Netgear doesn't even know what POE standard their own device uses. Its also crazy that Netgear would sell a POE device that doesn't work properly with the most common POE injectors available! Super annoying! Will we see a firmware update for the LB1121 anytime soon? a. Fix POE problems stated above. b. Fix "passthrough" mode so its not on a p2p /32 link so we can use real routers. c. More LTE band settings. It would be nice to be able to force bands, etc.Can I connect 802.3AF devices to my GS510TP
HI, I have Access Ponits that support the 802.3af standard and am not sure if I bought a GS510TP that I can safely connect thses AP's to the POE+ ports. In the past I have connected these AP's to a POE+ switch but want a smart switch to see what's really happening with the power. Any help would be apprciated, Thanks Steve - AXTSolved4.8KViews0likes1CommentNetgear GS105PE - power available on PSE
This switch is powered throw port 5, by 802.3 af or 802.3 at. I want to use the port 3 and 4 for computers (no problem), and use port 1 to get back power in DC to provide power supply to an electric card. If the switch is powered by 802.3at (POE+), what is the current I can get on port 1 (on 48v DC) ? Is there some splitters to connect on port 1 to get directly DC power (48, 24 or 12v) ? Thanks for your answersSolvedGS105PE PoE Daisy Chain
Hi, I need (or rather want :smileyvery-happy:) to install two switches in a place where there is no power. My existing network consists of an ASUS WiFi Router and not much else. My plan is as follows: Run power + data via a PoE+ Injector to the first GS105PE Run the second GS105PE off of PoE Passthrough from the first GS105PE Only run data (no power) from the rest of the available ports (PoE only needed to power the switches themselves). I hope this mockup will explain my theory: Will this work? Thanks in advance.Solved
