I just purchased two AC1750 R6400 routers with the intent of using one as the primary or modem router connected directly to my modem and the second as a bridge. I configured the primary router and confirmed that I could wirelessly connect to its 5GHz channel and successfully access the internet via my laptop. Next, I disconnected the ethernet connection of the primary router to the modem and connected the bridge router to the modem so it could be configured. Following the directions in the user manual, I then proceeded to set up the second router by selecting the radio button to "Enable Bridge mode" at the ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Wireless Settings menu location. I clicked the "setup bridge mode wireless settings" and selected 5GHz as the network freqency, populated the SSID field and password with the 5GHz SSID name and password from the primary router, and selected the radio button for the proper "Security Option" on the bridge router to match that of the primary. I left the check boxes checked for both "Get IP Address Dynamically" and "Get DNS Server Address Dynamically" and hit "Apply." After the bridge router updated, I got a message stating, "Please change your computer's IP address manually if LAN IP subnet will be changed," and at the same time, the status light for the internet connection on the bridge router changed from white to red and I lost capability to access the internet. For troubleshooting, I've tried unplugging the power cord to both my cable modem and the bridge router for 5 minutes, but once powered back on, the internet status light is still red and there is no connectivity to the internet. I'm now stuck. I've followed the directions to the letter in the user manual on how to set up the secondary router as a bridge, but I haven't been able to get it to work. If anyone could help me complete a functional setup of my bridge router, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, JamesSolvedR6400 Router Intermittent Internet Issues
My R6400 randomly looses it wireless connection for a few seconds. It appears to still have a connection to my cable modem. A few seconds later it is back up and working as though there was no problem. I have reset it and my cable modem and it continues to happen as is very frustrating.SolvedR6400 and DM200 setup
Hi, I have just bought a DM200 model and an R6400 router. It is not dlear at all how to set together and I have not managed to get internet into the R6400 Does the ADSL setting happen on the DM200? Is username and password - I can get the modem to connect this way... but when I plug it into R6400 what then under internet settings? Username and passowrd again? Say that internet does not need username and passowrd? Or is it all the other way round. I don't set up the DM200 - I just plug it into the R6400 and do all the setup in R6400? I want the DM200 to work in Modem mode only. How is it best to do it?SolvedAdvanced Settings not working
Hi, I have a problem to open "Advanced Settings" in my R6400 Router, it's like this from beginning (I remember it worked once for me after some firmware update), when I click on this it showes totally nothing (basic works fine). I've tried to enter settings from many different devices (PC, laptops, phones etc.), factory reset, cookies cleaning and logging via different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge) also don't working. It's an big issue for me for example I can't turn off the lights from router which is really annoying and what is more annoying I can't swtich any advanced settings so basically I don't know how to solve this and I'm waiting for any magical advice.SolvedNo Wifi Connection
The wifi button will not come on. I have connection via ethernet cord but the wifi will not connect. I have reset router and run all tests on the genie. I have not changed any settings. I was given this router by a friend. He literally just bought it and didnt want to go through the trouble of getting it to work or sending it back. (Lazy, rich guy, so he went and bought a new one and gave me this one). Is there anything I havent tried or need to try to get the wifi to work on this dang thing?
good morning all, i have a R6400 router installed in my home and i seem to be having issues on one of my har wire lines i have ran, to note i have ran Cat 5e thoughout my whole house, currently i have about 200Mbps speeds from my modem using Comcast as my ISP, i have my descktop hard wired to router, i have another line plugged into the router that runs to master bedroom (nothing plugged into it on that end) another one from the router to my living room where that line goes into a gigabit switch (in my gigabit switch i have a PS4,a Android TV box, surround sound reciever and tv) and the last port on the router goes down to another switch on my desk that goes to my NAS drive and another bedroom in the house (nothing connected in room) Ok so on my desktop PC im getting about 190 to 207 Mbps when i run a test, no big deal its perfect but when i try to run a speed test on anything in my living room i cant seem to get over 20Mbps, so i tried taking the line out of the gigabit switch and bypassing it strait into my laptop and again not more than 20Mbps now note i went back to my office where the router is and i took the cable that goes to my living room and went directly to my modem with it went back to laptop to run test again and now i get just over 100Mbps, so seems like my Cat 5e cable is good and that the router seems to be limiting my speeds somehow, can anyone else help with this issue? what could possibly be the issue here? sorry for all of the back and fourth stuff but i was trying to give as much description as i could with my systemSolvedR6400 router slow after firmware update V1.0.1.32_1.0.23
WiFi web download speed test dropped from near 100 Mbps download to around 20 Mbps after firmware upgrade. I tested by plugging directly into modem and get around 200 Mbps; same when cabled directly into the router. I see this speed reduction across several computers and phones, so I am sure it is the router and WiFi specifically. I rebooted several times, unplugged and replugged, check that WMM and QoS remain disabled, no blocking is enabled. My Macbook Pro connects over 5G on channel 157. Please advise on what to do next. Otherwise I'm moving to away from NetGear...Solved6.2KViews0likes8CommentsR6400 da utilizzare come Access point
Hi all I have bought the R6400 to reach all rooms in my house. Sadly, the router from the internet provider has more range and power even if it is standing a floor below. Furhter, the R6400 is unable to get through more than one room or into another floor. (Trough a wood ceiling!!, Not an army shelter) I have the Wlan power on 100 %. If I am right there are three possibilities: Either the router is defect or Netgear is promising ******* or I made a mistake. I would be thankfull if somebody know an answer.
