This is frustrating. I have a new router (R7000). It has a new name and password. There are 2 speeds on the router, The 5G speed still has the name of the old router, however it connects with the password of the new router. I wanted to correct this by logging into the extender. I don't know the password to the extender access. So... I'm on the "Extender Password Recovery." I got to this by putting in the serial number of the EX6100. Now it wants me to answer two security questions. I answer the questions -- they are not answers that I don't know --- my sister's first name, my father's middle name... Then I get "The information you entered does not matcch what is saved on the routher." AFAIK I've never given this information to my (R7000) router!! I might have given it to the extender... when it was connected to the old router... Is there anyway to completely reset this extender?CG3000D will reset but network remains password protected
I bought this router used and pushed the factory reset button when I plugged it in. It shows factory SSID but it’s password protected! I can not login to my network to make changes. I then held the factory reset button for 30 seconds and then disconnected power and plugged back in and my SSID is now 000000 still password protected. I have full use of the WIFI aspect of my R6100 router. None of the LAN ports work w/ any of my devices (TV, desktop, laptop). I use both frequencies, 2.5 and 5, and both work w/ my devices. I've done the WAN to LAN port test and get blue and amber LEDs lit up, so I guess the LAN ports are "active". I've unplugged modem and router, multiple times and still have same situation. I'm left w/ doing a reset to default settings. If I do that, and the LAN ports still don't work, (making hard wire router setup impossible) will I be able to access the router wirelessly to re-set my security settings? I'd still like to be able to use the WIFI function while a wait for a new router to be delivered. Sorry if this is a foolish question, but I don't want to be left stranded for a few days by doing the reset. Thanks allSolvedOrbi WiFi System performed a hard reset to factory defaults overnight
I got my orbit set up on Sunday. Everything was working well until Tuesday morning. When I woke up Tuesday morning my SSID had changed back to ORB20. Tried to logon with my password, didn't work. All my settings were gone, a factory reset had taken place overnight. Check with the family and no one played with the system. Any idea how a factory reset and happen 'spontanously'? RBR50 Firmware V1.10.1.2 Operation Mode RouterOrbi always loses configuration after cable modem reset
Hi - I have a Orbi RBR50 and one RBS50. My firmware version is V1.12.0.18 I have always had a problem where my Orbi base unit will lose its configuration information every time my cable modem resets. If I turn off my Orbi base before resetting my cable modem, there are no problems - this only occurs when the cable modem resets on its own, or my cable company loses signal to my modem. The lost configuration issue I see is this: After the cable modem comes back up, I get limited connectivity on my home LAN, and a lot of websites are not accessible. If I try to go to the Orbi configuration pages, I continuously get prompted to re-enter my username and password (which always fails). Eventually, I will get prompted to enter my router serial number, and I get my password recovery questions. However, even after that, my provided username/password (which is the one I always enter) still gets rejected. A while after that, I will get a prompt that says that my Orbi base address was changed to 10.0.0.1 to prevent IP address conflicts. At this point (it's been about 20 minutes since starting), I can usually get to the configuration page to reconfigure back to the 192.168.1.1 address and DNS range. I have had this problem for many months now, and Netgear hasn't fixed it with any firmware updates. How do I get this issue elevated to get the Orbi firmware issue resolved? This could be a massive pain to customers who aren't tech savvy and can't even get to the internet because their Orbi gets messed up by this.SolvedHave to Reset my CM500 when I Reboot the Computer
When I have to Reboot my Lenovo ideapad 70017ISK Laptop the Internet quits working. The Ethernet connection shows service and when I run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting it doesn't show any problems but I still can't connect to any Websites with the Browser. What I have to do is Reset the CM500 and then I can connect to the Web again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!1.7KViews0likes4CommentsHow to Reset N600 WiFi Cable Modem Router?

Hi. Over the past week I've noticed the 5G-2 band on my R7900 will drastically drop speed for no noticeable reason. Last week I change the broadcast channel from 149 to 161, which I thought was the source of the issue. Router did a soft reset after applying new channel setting and speeds went back to normal. Fast forward a week and the same drop in speed happened again. This time I just did a soft reset and left the channel the same. Speed went right back to normal after reset. 2.4G and 5G-1 bands are never impacted when the 5G-2 band is having these issues. I've tested the speeds with multiple devices ~1 foot away from the router. I'm using latest firmware (V1.0.1.4_10.0.12). Any suggestions to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.Solved5.9KViews0likes11Comments
