I just bought an orbi 770 plus one satellite. Setup was a breeze and the app installed on both my iPad and iPhone with zero problems so all in all I am quite pleased. There are, however, a couple of things that are confusing and I am hoping to get some clarity of from you guys. 1. We have a couple of iPads, one is showing up in the app as an apple iPad with a nice iPad icon. The other is showing as an iPad generic with a circle icon. 2. Both our iPhones are showing up the same way. What gives? The wifey’s iPad is an 11” iPad Pro and her phone is an iPhone 14 Pro Max. My iPad is an iPad Pro 13” and my phone is an iPhone 16 pro max. Hers are showing correctly mine are showing as the generic. the other irritation is I haven’t found a way to identify the devices in the list nor edit their descriptions unlike the Linksys this is replacing. I know which is which after I compared the MAC addresses but I would like to see Georges iPad and Gracie’s iPad so I know just by looking at the list. your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Hello, I’m hoping someone can help me. I have an Orbi rbr40 router with two satellites. Motorola modem. I unplugged the router and modem four days ago to move something. Plugged back in a few hours later. The router appeared as it was loading- slow white blinking light. Then turned solid purple. I tried unplugging and syncing a few times. Called Orbi, not sure if it was really Orbi. I called three different times, in sum they are saying there is malware. They said when I unplugged and replugged (prior to issue) that allowed malware thru and somewhere along the line of router, satellite or devices it is infected and I’d need to pay $349 for 5 years (maybe 3, can’t remember) or $499 for lifetime security protection. They said they clean up the malware and fix the issue. I don’t buy it. i have since done a factory reset, no help. I called Xfinity today, there is no issue with signal getting to modem. And YouTube says my modem is working fine. The router is now solid white light. of course Xfinity tried to have me rent a modem/router. any help, in simple terms, would be greatly appreciated. My soon to be ex husband was the tech guy- he skipped town to his new life and this is all foreign to me. Thanks a million in advance34Views0likes6CommentsRBE771 AP mode, Orbi app says cant find
Recently purchased RBE771 with 1 satellite. Had terrible trouble setting up in AP mode as it kept wanting to go into router. I have Verizon Fois which is in the basement and the I wanted wireless access in the upper levels. Was working in AP mode and I maybe yesterday I had a firmware update, running V10.5.19.5_2.2.37 on main and satellite. It seems to start playing havoc with my internet connection, powered off ONT, router and RBE771, did have a flashing pink (not sure what that means). It then all seemed to work. I am unable to use the Orbi app on my iphone, it shows a screenshot of the RBE771 in the background but then it comes up saying We can't find your Orbi, Try Again. If I go to Router Settings it shows 222 as the last digits as the ip address, it should be 153. I can log into the RBE771 in a web browser. I tried SET UP A NEW ORBI SYSTEM in the app menu but it is going through the steps of setting it up in router mode which I do not want and it gave me so much grief last time before I got it to AP mode. Any ideas how I can get back to seeing my RBE771 back in the ORBI app and is there a way of setting this up in AP mode from the start?206Views0likes25CommentsOrbi RBKE963 no connection
Today out of nowhere, both my satellites lost connection to my orbi router. I tried for hours to reconnect them, even resetted one of the satellites, then both, and eventuelly I also resetted the router. Tried to connect via iPhone over the initial WiFi connection. iPhone connects fine but the App does not find the router. I'm desperate and slowly start thinking that the sh.. it broken. Any ideas for troubleshooting?43Views0likes3CommentsSecurity Flaw - Orbi App - LogOut All
Hi I felt that someone has cracked my orbi App ie Netgear portal username and password. As a security measure I have now enabled 2 FA. This should protect me from all future threats but what about past ones. I have changed the password too. But the person who was already signed in will remained signed in as there is no option in Orbi App or Netgear account to "sign out from all instances". May be I am missing something. Can someone help? Regards74Views0likes6CommentsCan't connect to the Orbi's within app even after factory reset.
Man... These things are really starting to annoy me. I've tried all the fixes I have found and still no luck. I even factory reset them, something I was trying to avoid, and still can't get the app to connect. I've tried an andriod, iphone, etc and nothing.... What gives?!73Views0likes3CommentsCan't login to my router!
I've not been able to setup my router using the app because it says "Logon timed out, please try again. If this issue persists, try rebooting your device." even though I know the credentials are correct. I can login to the web interface but some features are missing and the app is advised as the primary way to setup this device. Before anyone replies with this link: Orbi App Timed out Issue! | NETGEAR Communities yes I've seen it. But we need an update on this please!!!!!66Views0likes2CommentsOrbi App Time-Out Issue Resolution
Hello Orbi Community! We are aware that some users are experiencing "Time Out" issues when logging into their Orbi app using iOS. We ask that you update your app to iOS version 2.45.1 to resolve this issue. To update your app simply un-install then reinstall your Orbi app. If there are any android users that are experiencing this "Time Out" behavior while using the Orbi app please comment below! Thank you for your continued patronage!! Best, Kevin Community Team1.3KViews10likes13Commentsunable to access web interface, and orbi app fails to connect too (RBRE960)
hey, I have the Orbi AXE11000 Quad-Band WiFi 6E Router (RBRE960) with two satellites. At the moment I am unable to access the system settings, however I try: Web interface, fails to respond. Orbi access on home network, error: "We can't find Orbi." Orbi app outside the home, error: "We can't find your Orbi" The mobile app looks like it just updated, and on iOS is now at version 2.45.1 but note the web interface also isn't responding.... The actual Wi-Fi and Internet connectivity is all working OK. I just can't change any setting. I am loathe to hard reset the system because I do not have a recent configuration backup and also because unless I understand how this has happened I worry about it just breaking again in the same way. What has caused this and how can I resolve? I read elsewhere that this is because of a firmware problem (?) and that it's possible for Netgear to push an updated firmeware out. Is this the case, and if so how can I get that to happen? (There seems to be no way for me to contact Netgear as the product is three years old which is really frustrating when the software goes wrong through no fault of mine) Or, is there any way for me to manually update the firmware without access to the web interface? All pointers appreciated. Thanks!210Views3likes15Comments
