Found on the RBR and RBS IP address/debug.htm web page for best details, please post both RBR and RBS uptime. Please note of any inconsistencies between the RBR and RBS. Generally the RBR and RBS uptime should be same. Home wide power brown outs should be noted if these are seen. Thank you.2.4KViews0likes17CommentsNOTICE: RBE770 and RBE870 Series FW Released - 9/2025

To view your router’s user manual, visit https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBE871.aspx#docs IF MANUALLY UPDATING THE SYSTEM: Be sure to update the RBS FIRST, then the RBR lastly. Please navigate to the link below for step-by-step instructions on how to update your RBR871/RBS870: Proceedure to Manually Firmware Update Orbi and Nighthawk Mesh systems I HIGHLY recommend after the FW is loaded on the system and it's back to ready, power OFF all Orbi units and the ISP modem/ONT for 1 minute. Then back ON with the ISP modem/ONT first, then RBR then RBS. NOTE: Orbi app or the routers web page may not report seeing new FW updates. NG may not push this to there auto update services immediately and may activate the newer FW update being seen on there auto update services at a later time. User will have the choice to manually update if you want too. FW UPDATE ALL Feature: If there is a FW updated seen on the RBRs web page and all RBS are online and connected with GOOD STATUS, you can select the UPDATE ALL button option to have the RBR update the RBS and RBR. Update All button is seen on the RBRs Firmware Update WEB page on the Check for Updates FW section of the page. Once FW has been checked for an update and all devices show the FW update is available, select the UPDATE ALL button. Give 5 minutes for the process to take place. Recommend powering OFF the Orbi system for 1 minute then back ON with the RBR first then RBS after Update All completes. Give 5-10 minutes for system to fully come to ready. NOTE: If continued problems are seen after a FW update, it's recommended to try a factory reset and setup from scratch with out loading any saved configurations from backup files. Use the ERASE button on the routers web page to factory reset the router: This sends a Factory Reset command to any and all connected RBS as well: Procedure for Factory Reset of RBE870 series systems use ERASE Button This article applies to: Orbi (7) RBE870 RBE870B RBE871 RBE871B RBE872 RBE873 RBE873B Let us know how it works for you...Please make a new post regarding any problems your seeing in the Orbi BE support forums. Curious if anyone still gets this issue. I have orbi 870. The satellite in question is one floor below ~25 feet away. I know the suggestion is +30 but this is where it has to go for now. It oscillates between good and poor although no noticeable performance issues when it says poor. That said, it's driving me crazy!47Views0likes5CommentsHelp save my marriage 🤣
Heys guys Sky Q Sky hub 4.2 orbi rbr850 with 2 satellites. so I’ve tried to get this working myself but the tech terminology has me frazzled. As sky doesn’t allow bridge mode I put my Orbi in AP mode and turned off the WiFi on sky hub. Now I get full signal but internet very slow to load any webpage,YouTube etc it works but so slow. i have 3 gamers in the house and finding great difficulty getting access to play games online. i followed a few videos to open ports but I must’ve done something wrong along the way. i want to test it out tonite and was thinking a factory reset of sky hub and Orbi would be best as fresh install. anyone have any tips of step by step guide to get this up and running properly. i have 2 satellites and one is hard wired and other is upstairs and has good wireless bakhaul. i can provide screens of my setup if that helps? The wife is getting agitated so help is greatly appreciated thanks guys Dave94Views0likes23CommentsMLO Backhaul (Daisy/Star topography)- Wifi7 - Orbi 970/870/770/330
With your Wifi 7 range of Mesh Wifi Systems, in a set-up with more than 1 satellite , will MLO Backhaul work with those Satellites NOT directly connected to the Router? i.e for those satellites in a Daisy chain wifi set up topography.68Views0likes1CommentOrbi 870 WAN performance
Hi Netgear team, I’ve recently purchased the Orbi 870 system, primarily due to its advertised support for 10Gbps WAN connections. I’m currently on a 10Gbps fibre plan and have the Orbi connected directly to the ONT using a certified Cat7 cable. The port negotiates at 10Gbps full duplex, and all hardware in the chain supports 10Gbps. However, I’ve noticed that the internal speed test built into the Orbi consistently caps out at around 4.5Gbps, regardless of time of day or test server. I understand that the Orbi 870 only has 2.5Gbps LAN ports and that wireless speeds have their own limitations that’s expected. But since the test is run directly from the router, I had assumed it would be able to at least demonstrate close to full WAN throughput (e.g. 8–9Gbps), especially on such a fast connection. My setup: Orbi 870 Router (latest firmware) 10Gbps fibre connection Cat7 cable from ONT to Orbi 870’s 10GbE WAN port WAN port confirmed as 10Gbps full duplex Internal speed test peaking at ~4.5Gbps consistently Firewalla Pro removed from inline during testing ISP speed tests from ONT are at advertised speed. My questions: Is the Orbi 870 hardware limited in terms of how much WAN throughput it can process internally? Is there a CPU bottleneck or lack of hardware acceleration that prevents the internal speed test from reaching full 10Gbps? Should users expect that the 10Gbps port is more of a marketing spec than an actual performance threshold? Would appreciate any clarification from the Netgear team or other users who’ve tested this in a similar setup140Views0likes11CommentsOrbi RBE873 Etendre le réseau à l'extérieur
Cordialement21Views0likes1Comment
