Hi, I have owned a Orbi RBR50 and satellite connected via a Draytek Vigor 130 modem for several years, without issues other than the occasional drop out which I put down to too many devises on the network. To overcome this I have just purchased a New Orbi RBKE963B from Netgear/Amazon with two satellites. Part way through the set up it will not find the internet. I have retried many times and reset both the Modem and the Orbi but everytime its the same. My old Orbi/Draytek sysetem is working fine so the Draytek Modem is confirmed as ok. I have reset the modem but it still wont connect. My ISP is BT Internet / Openreach. copper the last hundred yards. I do not have the original BT Router or any other Modem and dont really want to purchase a new one as I am not convinced there is anything wrong with my Dratek 130 Any help pleaseSolvedRBR 750 router not connecting after spectrum outage (modem eu2251)
Yesterday after the outage my RBR 750 won't connect to the spectrum router therefore without internet. I followed the steps below and still did not help. Please suggest 1.) I did power cycle modem first then Orbi. Still no wifi. At this point wan port status was link/down with ip-addresss 0.0.0.0 2.) On the Orbi's DHCP side, I did the Computer MAC clone. Repeat step 1, Still no internet. 3.) Factory reset Orbi, and starting over from scratch. The very first step that tries to connect to internet fails. So I proceed setting up with out internet. 4.) Replaced with a brand new modem from spectrum and repeat step 3. Still no internet. 5.) Manually updated Orbi firmware to the latest 7.2.8.5 and repet step 1, still no internet. Orbi stays purple. But at this point I see the WAN port status reads as 1000/FULL. Earlier it was link/down. We made some progress. But WAN ip-addresss still reading 0.0.0.0 6.) As temp solution I hooked up to the modem to another router tplink be3600 first and from its lan I connected to the Orbi s WAN. Viola, Orbi is back in business. Modem hooks up to everything in the world except the Orbi after the outage. Like wise Orbi also. Spectrum did replace provision the router even that didn't help at some point, even that didn't help. Need help and fix this to have Orbi talk to the modem again like it was before the outage. Thanks in advance.SolvedCannot Download Latest Firmware For RBKE953S
Is anyone else having issues downloading.85 firmware from the the Netgear site for the 950 series? The 960 firmware downloads just fine but the 950 just gives a script error when trying to download it. Also webgui and app says I’m up to date currently on .82 firmwareNETGEAR Orbi RBSE960 AXE11000 constantly dropping WiFi connection
Good day, I currently have 1 router and 3 satellite in my home which is 2200sqft. I have it on auto channels I have owned the Orbi RBSE960 AXE11000 system since 2022 In 2023 all my WiFi devices keep dropping off the mesh network and it does the spinning icon to connect to the WiFi for about 30 minutes to one hour before finally connecting. a work around I’ve try was to rename the WiFi network and I was able to finally connect back quickly since than every month I find myself having to rename the networks and I have to connect all 40 devices back to the new network. this has gotten worse in 2024 I’ve contacted NETGEAR they sent me out a replacement router. This did not do. The issue in my house i then purchased another satellite to see if i was dropping due to interference I have been playing with the channels for a few months but the results are the same for all channels the kitchen is a dead zone zero wifi while cooking. should i just try another mesh system? i was thinking about getting the new orbi but what if the same thing happens. if anyone can help me figure out whats going wrong i would greatly appreacate it960 Duplicate Devices
Hi All I’m having issue with my internet currently and awaiting ISP to fix it. While waiting I check Orbi Apps and show my current Network Map. I notice there is new additional mesh unit appear in the network connected to my router. Upon checking the new mesh unit is actually has identical product details as my current router. It means the router now appears as ‘router’ and ‘mesh’ in the same network. Why could this happen? Can this be the reason my internet is down? please share some experience if you have any… thank you"Self-assigned IP" on MacOS Sequoia when trying to connect via Ethernet
I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro running MacOS Sequoia 15.7.2 via ethernet to my Orbi Satellite. I get the status "Self-assigned IP" in the Network tab in System Settings under the Ethernet Port's name. I do not get any internet access when using it. I've tried rebooting the Wi-Fi network, static IPs, renewing DHCP lease. The same ethernet cable connected to the same port on the Satellite works perfectly fine with an Xbox Series X. I'm not sure what else to do.Use both 6E router/satellite and 6 router/satellite?
I have the 6 and 6E systems. Given the speeds available on these routers and satellites, I do not see the advantage in moving to the 7 system. I have a very large home. The 6E system is about a year old but unused. I have the router and two satellites. I am getting fiber internet soon. I would like to use the 6E system as the main router. Can I also use the 6 system, and, if so, how do I set this up. There are a couple of places that the current 6 system does not reach so rather than investing in additional 6E satellites I would like to use the 6 router and satellite. Any thoughts?I found that disabling all logging and then performing a full power cycle of my 963 system
I found that disabling all logging and then performing a full power cycle of my 963 system—a step I came across in the post linked below (which discusses BE systems)—resulted in a significant performance improvement in my setup, allowing me to have a mucher longer uptime before needing to reboot for system stability. I was also encountering a connectivity issue with certain devices after 5–8 days, which required a full system reboot to resolve. After disabling logging, that issue seems to have been resolved as well. I thought this might be helpful to share in case others are facing similar problems. https://community.netgear.com/discussions/en-home-orbi-be/orbi-be-series-troubleshooting-tips---reboots-and-crashes/2449415
