reboot
22 TopicsRouter gets VERY slow and needs reboot
I've had this router for about 1 year. It worked well, but after about 3 weeks things would start streaming slow, movies and games. After a restart everything worked fine. A month ago I started having issues with my wife's phone, Galaxy S6. It would stay connected, but internet was so slow it was unusable. The mobile network was fine. If we connected to wifi at a store or libray it was fine. Only time we had an issue is at home. To give you an idea if we did a Speedtest it would take 1-2 minutes to "Find the Best Server". After that push "Begin Test" and the speed was about 75 Mbps. For my phone the "Find the Best Server" was 2-3 seconds. Do the same test on the mobile network and it works great. I tried moving it from 5 ghz to 2.4, changed the encryption, rebooted the phone, reset the phone, rebooted the router nothing helped the speed. Finally I tried connecting with WPS instead of using the passphrase and that worked. For a while. Every 1-2 days it gets slow again. I need to reboot the router, then it works fine again for another 1-2 days. Provider is Xfinity and I believe we have the latest firmware. Needless to say it's very frustrating to have to reboot the router every day. Today it worked only 12 hours and I had to reboot again. We have 4 computers, Chromecast, smart appliances, ipods, and none of them have a problem. Only 1 phone and then it only started a month ago. Any ideas? This is very frustrating. I have a new c6300 that I bought and installed a few weeks back with firmware V2.01.14 and configured to only operate the 2.4GHz wifi radio, i.e. I have the 5.0GHz wifi radio unchecked/disabled in advanced | advanced setup | wireless settings because i only need/use the 2.4GHz wifi radio. What im finding is that every week or so, seemingly after making use of wifi network by my mobile devices to carry out mobile OS updates, that the 2.4GHz wifi radio stops working. By that i mean the SSID no longer shows up in available wifi networks on my laptops, tablets and phones and for those that are already configured with that wifi network ssid & password they are unable to connect. The only resolution Ive been able to arrive at is to visit the c6300s administration web UI advanced view and select the "reboot" option after which the 2.4GHz wifi radio starts showing up and working again for all my devices configured to use it. Does this sound like something others have also experienced b4 that has a known fix or a firmware update that addresses it? I have a separate post about rebooting the ReadyNAS through software (option is missing). This post asks: how do I reboot the ReadyNAS with the physical button? Online instructions say to press the physical power button once (after which the LED blinks), and then a second time. This does not work for me. The first power press never causes the LED to blink. This thing really wants to stay on! Hi, I need help with a netgear sprint 6100d router, for some reason the router will lose connection at random times during the day or go extremely slow. I know this isnt just my router, i have friends that have the exact same router and have to reboot it at least once a day. I don't know if its the software version. I have the most current version, and i dont know what is going on. I need to know if there is a issue with the software, or do i need to use a previous version, the computer says failed to connect to a dns server, it like needs to be reboot once a day or more to keep the internet up. I was wondering if someone can help me if there is a setting i can change to fix this, i even tried to fix it by changing the dns server to google's dns server but that didnt help. I have devices that need to stay on 100% the time without having the router reboot, I have tried updating the prl as well but that doesnt solve my problem If anyone can help me please let me know, Thanks, TheawesomeMCBSolvedReadyNAS Ulta 2, No ping/SSH, Loud fan, No leds (except power)
My ReadNAS Ultra 2 (RNDU2000-100PES) is acting up... Operating system: ReadyNAS OS 6.5.1 This is the second time this has happened... but the device was running fine for at least 15 days before the second time. The device is very loud compared to normal, the PSU fan is blowing really hard. It can't be reached by ping, SSH, or the web interface. The power LED is on, but none of the other LEDs are on - and they are not blinking. There seems to be disk activity due to "vibrations" on the chassis, but I can't be sure. A forced, physicall reboot (holding the power button and pressing it again) seems to fix the issue temporarily, and I can after this ping, SSH, and access the web interface again, and the ACT LED blinks green when it is supposed to. Is the device doing some sort of Btrfs maintenance that I am unaware of - like scrubbing? Any ideas that might help?2.8KViews0likes3Commentsfs728tp setting sntp time server causes random switch reboots \ restarts
In an attempt to syncronize all of my clocks and logging in my switches, I set the netgear time settings to sync with external time servers. Upon doing this, my servers started randomly reboot throughout the day, every 8 to 12 hours. I changed the settings back to 'local' time and the random reboots stopped occurring. I am on the latest firmware with all switches. Software version 5.0.2.39 and boot version b5.2.0.52.8KViews0likes2CommentsReady NAS not shutting down or rebooting - RN316
Hello folks in the community, I cannot shut down my ReadyNAS gracefully. Over the GUI it hangs on shutdown - the display is showing " Powering Off - Goodbye" I also tried the hardware button method on the front of the RN - but again the display shows "Powering Off- Goodbye" But the system doesn't shut down any further - it is stuck in that status. What else can be done?? Running on OS 6.5.0 - but also had this issue under previous OS once or twice. Update doesn't work over the GUI. Is there another solution than pulling the AC Power Plug?? Starting the webinterface - I can still browse the shares but trying to reboot over the software I/O switch or the hardware button on the frontpanel won't work. Any ideas ? Help greatly appreciated. My RBR50 keeps spontaneously rebooting
I have an RBR50 and two RBS50 satellites, purchased as a bundle through Costco. I noticed that the router would intermittently just reboot, dropping all devices. I thought it may be a firmware issue so I upgraded to the latest (2.1.2.18) and it still happens almost daily. All the log says is [Initialized, firmware version: V2.1.2.18]. Is my router defective? Thanks!Solved
