I have an N600 C3700 cable modem/wifi router, and I am having trouble with the speed of my wifi connection. I have Comcast Blast 150Mbps service, and my wired connection typically gets 175-180Mbps (testing with both Speedtest.net and Xfinity's speed test site). However when on wifi I typically am getting 25-30Mbps on the 2.4GHz channel and maybe up to 50Mbps on the 5GHz channel. I’ve tried on two different android phones, two ipads, and a macbook air, and all have those same slow results over wifi. Tested when within about 3 feet of the router, all the way to 20 feet away. I have run the tests dozens of times over the past several days and those results are consistent. I have checked all the settings on the router and all appear to be per Netgear recommendations. I am using WPA2-PSK [AES] security and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz are set to the “Up to 300 Mbps” mode (I understand I'm not going to get 150 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, but I think I should get it on the 5 GHz). There are no neighboring wifi signals on the channels I am using so it is not an interference issue, nor are there any other possible interference signals in my home that I am aware of. I have tried disabling the encryption and still get the same speed. This morning I did a factory reset and confirmed I’m on the latest firmware (v2.02.06) and I still have the same problem. Any guidance on how to increase the wifi speed?22KViews5likes16CommentsR7000 - Disney Circle - Internet speeds through router slowdown
Creating a new thread to focus on this one issue. I don't believe this is a general slow wifi/slow internet issue, but is clearly Circle related. All tests done on wired connection via my Netgear R7000. I have a cable internet plan advertised as 150/15. This was all done on firmware 1.0.9.14, and I did a factory reset and setup my options yesterday fresh. I have never enabled QoS or Web Traffic. I do have IPv6 configured and it works. Circle was enabled now for 24 hours. Speed slowly sinks down to 37Mbps. I see this speedtest: Turn off Circle via webpage on router and hit apply. This saves quickly, no reboot of router. Now I see full speed, and see how solid the download speed is? I turn Circle back on, hit apply and I get this speed test. All tests run inside 2 minutes: Turn Circle back off, and retest. Going to leave it off for 24 hours now to test: Looking for any support from Netgear if this is expected, and if it is fixable. Willing to help test if needed, as Cirlce seems like a great feature.20KViews2likes43CommentsOrbi Speeds have slowed drastically
My wifi speeds have slowed dramatically recently. I have comcast cable internet and when hardwired to the comcast modem I get speeds of 120mbs+. The Orbi is only kicking out about 25-30 via wifi and when hardwired to orbi base. I was getting speeds closer to 80mbps by wifi until recently. I've tried rebooting the system and reconnecting the satellite but nothing has helped. I'm not the most tech savvy guy but would really appreciate some help. Not thrilled that they only support such an expensive product for 90 days.
