LB1120 Bridge Mode - No Connectivity

Hello,

Trying out an LB1120 before installing across three locations as failover devices. Using AT&T and testing behind a consumer Linksys E2500 with default settings. The LB1120 works fine using its default settings with router mode and DHCP server. However, I'll need to be using bridge mode for our permanent installations. When I change to bridge mode, I lose all connectivity and cannot reach the LB1120 until I factory reset it. I can see that the Linksys router is getting an AT&T IP address so bridge mode is functioning in some manner.

I'm sure it's something obvious but I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

A new firmware has been posted on the update servers that fixes the LB bridge mode issue. To update LB1120, LB1121 or LB2120 to latest Firmware log into the LB web ui and go to Settings àGeneral à Software and Reset once there select check for update and wait then simply follow onscreen instructions to update the Firmware. See below for example of how the LB2120 Firmware Info screen looks like after update. For other device just need to make sure that you are using App Version: NTG9X07C_12.09.05.27

  • Also how can it be justified to not fix one regions products when another region gets fix?

This isn't fixed for me, unfortunately. I'm using an LB2120 in bridged mode connected to a Ubiquiti EdgeRouterX running firmware 1.9.7 (latest). The firmware on my LB2120 is:

Firmware Firmware Version: M18Q2_v12.09.163431 App Version: NTG9X07C_12.09.05.27 Web App Version: LBHDATA_03.03.103.165 Bootloader Version: Bootloader Ver: v1.0.0 Hardware Version: 08

I am having the exact same issues as described - router gets IP assigned, add the routes then the LB2120 disconnects the LAN port and the whole thing starts over again.

Please let me know if I need to provide more information.

      - Mark.

After studying this thread, I think my symptoms may be a bif different and so I'll post a new thread.

  • I have just purchased an LB2120NAS and would like to use this unit as a mobile failover when my wireline goes down. I have obtained a login, password, APN, and static IP from my carrier. I would like to place the LB2120 into bridge mode and let a Sonicwall perform NAT, DHCP, etc.

I have downloaded / installed the latest LB2120 firmware to patch the bridge mode issue. Here are the current modem specs from the about page. The unit has been power cycled several times since the upgrade.

    Firmware Version: M18Q2_v12.09.163431

    App Version: NTG9X07C_12.09.05.27

    Web App Version: LBHDATA_03.03.103.165

    Bootloader Version: Bootloader Ver: v1.0.0

    Hardware Version: 08

I am not having any success with bridge mode and have several questions:

    - Should a mobile profile be created in the LB2120 and always connected to in order for Bridge mode (IPPT) to function properly?

    - On the firewall (Sonicwall) end, should my WAN type be set as Static IP, or PPPoE? The Static IP WAN type does not have an APN or service name field, and my carrier won't provide me a subnet mask or gateway address for the service. The PPPoE WAN type seems like a more likely candidate, however I can't seem to connect.

Any help woudl be appreciated. Thanks.

  • I'm currently going through support, I cannot for the life of me get this update to download without erroring out. I have been trying for almost 40 days straight. I use this modem only with cellular not as a failover. It would be really nice if they would just unlock telnet and let me manually apply the update.

  • Always Error Software Update:

Currently deployed to Afghanistan and using Etisalat.af as my LTE service provider, got the APN settings and no go on either router or bridge mode.  Etisalat listed as a valid provider.

      SKU: LB1121-100NAS

      IMEI: 014754000019907

      H/W: 1.0(0600)

Could really use it to keep in touch with family and friends and keeping my mind of certain things over here.  Any update on the firmware udpate.

  • Happy to report that the LB2120-AUS (Australian version) now works perfectly in bridge mode using the latest firmaware (Image attached). This unit is connected to an FVS336Gv3 firewall.

Upgrading the firmware was a bit of a task, as I had to click the 'Check for updates' button repeatedly until it actually decided to start downloading. Just kept getting error messages before that.

Other than that, all good now! Excellent product now that it's working as intended.

Still awaiting the promised euro update, though I'm at this point not surprised it hasn't turned up yet.

Which device are you reffering to? If it's the LB2120, the EU update should be available already as the AUS update was released not long ago. Seems like the AUS and EU version are exactly the same...

If you get a 'Couldn't update your device' error, then just keep clicking on 'Check for updates' until it works. I have two devices, on of them picked up the update after 5 clicks, the other took about 50. It'll get there eventually...
