GS748T v5 VLAN problems

Hi there,
I have a Netgear newbie question:
I'm trying to get this working:
VLAN100 (used for LAN), Untagged Ports 1-24, Tagged Port 48
VLAN200 (used for Phones), Untagged Ports 25-46, Tagged Port48
VLAN1 (default management), Untagged Port 47, Tagged Port48

Both, vlan100 and 200 have a dhcp server running on it, well at least should...

My problem, once I've done all the config, say on vlan100, the server uplink (port 1 or whatever <=24) seems to be ok, but as soon as I try to get an IP (using my laptop or network analyser), it's not possible to get an IP. But, if I also tag the default vlan1 within the port range 1-24, it's working great...

I'm getting mad on this, as both vlans must have their own dhcp running.

Cheers
tzaff

    :D Hope this helps:

Set PVID = 100 to ports 1-24 (untagged) for VLAN 100.
Set PVID = 200 to ports 25-46 (untagged) for VLAN 200.
Leave PVID = 1 to tagged port 48 for all VLANs

What is port 48 being used for?

Does this mean the switch is acting as the DHCP server, or do you have separate DHCP servers on each VLAN?

    How are you testing this?

Port 48 is used as trunk for the connection to the next switch

There is one dhcp running on a win2008 server and one on the phone server

    How are you testing this?

As I said, with my laptop or with a Fluke

    Cheers, that did the trick...
Definitively more trick than HP/DLink and Cisco....

I realize this is moot since the problem has been resolved, but I need you to recognize is that this does not answer the question I asked.

I was looking more for the method used rather than the tools, and a VLAN configuration cannot be tested with a single laptop or analyzer - you're going to need a minimum of two devices, and with just two you're going to be doing a lot of plugging, unplugging & possibly reconfiguring of ip addresses.
