POST Issues GSM4248UX
Hi, the power on start of self teset on my
GSM4248UX is failing. I power on the switch and it starts with the test. All of the ports in the back of the unit light up for a few seconds. The power LED blinks a number of times then stays on red solid light. The switch is not accessible via the OBB or any of the ports.
The switch was working fine for a day or tow, but then we updated the software to the latest firmware. V13.0.5.24
Then we started having this issue.
I have tried the paper clip reset multiple times, but there are no indications that this is working at all.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did. It extablished console connection but it halted with out any errors or messgeas that meant anything to the support tech.
On another note, be aware that the lastest firware has a bug in the AV UI. When creating new profiles, it doesn't take certain subnet masks address. You will need to log into the main UI and entern your subnet maks under Routing > VLAN.
Thanks.

After working with Netgear support, they idenfy this to be a hardware issue specifically with the power module.
The switch’s PoE subsystem is failing to initialize at boot. Evidence from the technical logs shows: ⦁ PSE remains OFF and “Get PoE FW Failed” is reported. ⦁ show poe port info all returns only headers (no port table), which occurs when the PoE controller is not up. ⦁ No OS/kernel crash dump is present; system uptime and boot logs are otherwise normal aside from transient driver buffer warnings. ⦁ Thermal and fan readings are normal; PS‑1 and PS‑2 are operational (PS‑3 not powered is non‑blocking).
Just putting out there for anyone facing a similar issue. Keep in mind any warranty for your hardware.

Had ever connected the console as suggested earlier?
One would expect these problems as also recorded in the tech logs would become visible.

Then we started having this issue.Keep in mind that firmware updates, setting the new image to active, and finally starting these switches takes reasonably more time than e.g. a simple Netgear Easy Smart or Plus Switch, which can come up on a fraction of a second.
Is this a very new switch these days for you?
Don't hesitate to contact Netgear Support in case for assistance. Be prepared to provide insight what the switch console output does show.

Start by connecting the console, power on the switch and check the output...
What makes you believe it's a POST issue?
I tend to state the switch does not boot due to an unknown reason, for example because the installed image does not load?
