Hi there,in our company we have two GSM7328Sv1 Switches which we want to stack. We have four AX742 modules, two for each switch. When I try to put them in a stack following happens:The stack seems to be working, the management interface shows the second switch, I can see port statistics for every port and so on. The stacking seems to work, even the menu point stacking in the UI doesn´t show any errors or failure. But when I want to transfer a file from a device connected to switch 2 to a device connected to switch 1 [and vice versa] the data rate drops and I get "Total Receive Errors" at the stacking menu. The counter rises as long as the file is transferred. The Firmware is the same [8.0.3.49] and I don´t know what to do now :/I´ve tried the following: Use only one stacking module, use another cable, switch the modules...none of this worked.So maybe someone here knows what to do?Thanks in advanceSimon

Have you tried to interchange the switches... I mean make the master switch as the slave one and vice versa? Have you tried to factory reset both switches then reconfigure it from scratch?

Module is compatible, FW is the latest. When did you start having an issue? HAs it been working before or is it the first time you are stacking them?

Ah change the master hasn´t been tried yet, will do that today. The stack is "new" the switches were in "single operation mode" before, no stacking, so yeah its the first time I´m stacking them.Factory reset was done on both in context with the firmware update. I suggest change the master first and test, you can use an older version but make sure that you are running them on both switches.

So, I´ve changed the master and the failure is still there. And then funny thing is, when I make the second switch to master, it won´t be even create a real stack. The console writes "trying to attach another unit" and then both switches will stop operation, no port leds flashing or something like that. Seems that the second switch is faulty...but I can check this on monday when I have 2 other GSM7328Sv1 switches to test.Will try with another firmware this weekend, lets see what happends.Thanks for your replies.Simon

It appears that you are correct about the second switch being faulty, stopping operation when being a master switch seemed good enough to suspect it. What versions have you tried yet?

Just tried 8.0.3.11 instead of 8.0.3.49. The "Total Receive Error" counter is still rising. So which one is the faulty one...the one with the counter rising or the one without...tricky ..

Did you unstack the switches before the downgrade?

Yep, I did. So i´ve tried stacking for 2-3 hours last evening. I´ve got 4 Switches to test. 2 of them in a working stack and the other 2 [the faulty stack]. I was not able to get a working stack with 3 Switches.

What I forgot to mention: I have to use a 3m AXC763 CX4 cable [but I´ve got the old modules]. So I´ve tried the 3m cables with the working stack and I got errors. So, either the cable were faulty or incompabtible. I´m more and more confused about this..

Is there a way you could test, the non-working stack along with the working ones? I think this is a ways for you to identify which switch is causing the issue. Simply swap out the switches on the working ones with the non-working stack.
