GS308E Error : Plus Utility Verwaltung ist derzeit deaktiviert (Management is currently disabled)
When trying to connect to my recently new bought GS308E via my HOME-LAN firsttime, iv'e got a strange errormessage back from ALL NETGEAR-Tools (SCC, still available on my Win 11x64 Laptop, saying: "Management is currently disabled". In addition i could not get into the Online Menu of the GS308E as described, allthough i switched my Laptop-Ethernet-LANCARD to the requested IP range of this Netgear 8-Port-managable Ethernet-Switch! No Telnet access nor FTP or any Firmware-Upgrade possibile, from the WEB shown version
v.1.00.08. to a possible version 1.00.11GR via Switch Discovery Tool or similar NETGEAR-Tools.. In addition , the Menu does not accept the change of the switch internal own IP
192.168.0.293 to any other IP. How to solve this MANAGEMENT-RESTRICTION ERROR
to a working one? Plse. can anybody help please? best regards

Along with all newer Plus switches for longer than a decade, SCC (introduced before Web UI made available for the configuration) was replaced by the NETGEAR ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility. Both are no longer supported and obsolete, except for certain special purposes and legacy systems.
As part of the security updates, the management by the NSDP protocol was disabled by default another ten years ago already, so only some basic discovery feature remained.
Please consult the https://www.netgear.com/support/product/gs308e.aspx#docs documentation on how to install and configure these switches.
At your own risk, you can consider to re-enable the Plus Utility management protocol, and try your luck with the Plus Utility as long as it's workable.
IP addresses to these switches can be assigned by DHCP from your router. Consider adding DHCP-MAC reservations for all these devices so they will be reachable on the IP address assigned.
Worst case, for a single switch on the default IP address, temporary set your computer network adapter to the 192.168.0.x/24 subnet, and define a fixed IP on the device.

Thanks for the reply , I've tried out the last hint, fist: "Worst case, for a single switch on the default IP address,
temporary set your computer network adapter to the 192.168.0.x/24 subnet, and define a fixed IP on the device."
But even though i was them in the same IP-Range 192.168.0.230(static ,IP4,in Adapter, Subnet 255.255.0.0)
i could not get into any menu to switch the IP ! Still the same primary declared response.
NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool 1.2.103 and ProSAFE Plus Utility v.2.7.8
can both find the switch, but cannot get into menu, change any internals no change or upload a newer firmware.
Any possibility of a factory reset , maybe helps? best regards nesch52
